The Protagonist: EX-1 is aiming to entice fans of epic space operas such as Mass Effect with its rich, branching narrative and unique, turn-based combat system with flavors of XCOM and Divinity: Original Sin.

When a massive space station suddenly appears high in orbit, the world learns of the urgent threat imposed by the invading aliens. Terran’s first contact with an alien species has gone disastrously wrong. Now, plunged into a war for their world, the people of Terra mount their defense against the weaponized invaders.

Assembling an elite strike team led by ANGEL, a highly trained special agent with expertise in both sciences and martial combat. The Terran government has devised a plan to infiltrate the orbiting station and neutralize the alien threat. Sent to lower the space station’s impenetrable defenses, ANGEL instead, awakens in the infirmary of the spacestation. With no memory of how she arrived in the prison, ANGEL must put her trust in an unfamiliar handler to guide her safely through the maze-like alien ship, locate the rest of her squad, and accomplish her mission. The only true fact she knows is this: They are the only chance Terra has against hostile takeover.

The Protagonist: EX-1 features an extensive branching narrative and turn-based tactical combat - each choice the player makes affects the course of the game. It stars a Special Operative with the Terran military force code named: ANGEL. Her current mission is to infiltrate an alien space station of the invading KL-T but all doesn’t go as planned. She awakens in the infirmary of the space station she’s tasked with infiltrating and needs to figure out how to escape this place while it’s in full lockdown.

3Mind Games has announced that The Protagonist: EX-1 has a release date for July 19th after a constructive Steam Early Access campaign.
