The Ghosts hide inside inconspicuous furniture and hurl themselves at invading Hunters.

In Midnight Ghost Hunt, take control as either a hunter or a ghost in this chaotic 4v4 hide-and-seek game which brings a bold and thrilling new take on the prop hunt genre. Hunters must work together using an array of hi-tech gadgets and weapons to hunt down and destroy Ghosts as they attempt to conceal themselves around Midnight Ghost Hunt’s chilling maps. The Spectrophone, Radar and Pathfinder can detect ghostly presences, while a range of sledgehammers, harpoons, and salt-spewing shotguns can be utilised to destroy the Ghosts. Use the Vacuum to hoover up any spectral remains.

Ghost players possess seemingly innocuous objects in order to hide from the Hunters and bide their time until the witching hour. The spectres will want to keep moving to keep their ectoplasm buildup low or else risk being discovered by the Hunters. Ghosts also have the ability to claim supernatural powers, which include turning invisible, causing furniture to float, and conjuring a dangerous Ghostly miasma. Ghosts can even hide in plain sight by masquerading as a Hunter’s doppelgänger!

The Hunters will desperately try to destroy every Ghost before the clock strikes MIDNIGHT. If they fail, the tables turn, the Ghosts become supercharged and the Hunters become the Hunted. They must try to stay alive long enough for evac to arrive.

Publisher Coffee Stain and developer Vaulted Sky Games announced the arrival of Midnight Ghost Hunt’s second closed Beta weekend, taking place between 28th-30th January, ahead of the game’s launch in Early Access later this year. 

New players brave enough to step into the ghostly frey can register for a chance to take part in the January Beta now on the Steam store page whilst ghost-hunting veterans will automatically gain access to the new Beta shenanigans.

After a first closed Beta in October 2021 which saw servers stress-tested with thousands of players, the team are inviting Hunters and Ghosts back to the hallowed halls of Midnight Ghost Hunt’s array of spooktacular maps to kickstart the new year.

Claim your supernatural powers, which include turning invisible, causing furniture to float, and conjuring a dangerous Ghostly miasma. Ghostly Perks include avoiding traps with Untrappable, seeing nearby Hunters through walls with Perception, and extended possess range with Ghostly Reach.
• ARMED AND READY: Hunters must choose their weapons from a full range of hi-tech gadgets designed to cast out Ghosts from our plane of existence. Detect ghostly presences with the Spectrophone, Radar and Pathfinder, capture them with a Trap, and suck up their spectral remains with the Vacuum – or just blast them to smithereens with the Spectral Cannon, sledgehammers, harpoons, salt-spewing shotguns, and more. Hunters can also select Perks to give them a special boost. Choose from Lightweight’s extra burst of speed, Healing Aura’s health-replenishing capabilities and a host of other powers to get ahead of the game.
• A BEVY OF BLOOD-CURDLING MAPS: Explore an array of unsettling settings, including an abandoned theatre, eerie mansion and cursed pirate ship. Each location brings with it different tactical considerations and items to throw about… as well as varying opportunities to play tricks on your opponents.

Midnight Ghost Hunt is in development for PC (Steam), with other platforms being considered, scheduled for 2022.
