'Core Keeper' Planning Spooktacular Halloween Event Later This Month

by Rainier on Oct. 12, 2022 @ 9:57 a.m. PDT

Core Keeper is a mining sandbox adventure where players mine relics and resources to build a base, craft equipment, defeat giant monsters, and survive.

In Core Keeper, a mining sandbox adventure, players are drawn toward a mysterious relic.

You are an explorer who awakens in an ancient cavern of creatures, resources and trinkets. Mine relics and resources to build your base, craft new equipment, survive, and power up the Core.

Defeat giant monsters, discover hidden secrets, farm crops, cook new recipes and explore a procedurally generated underground world in a mining sandbox adventure for 1-8 players.

Get ready for a season of spooktacular surprises and eerie excavating as Halloween comes to Core Keeper later this month.

From October 25th - November 8th, the game’s next seasonal event, Core Keeper’s Creepy Costume Party, invites players to unlock a range of rare Halloween-themed outfits, including an exclusive Pumpkin Head, Spooky Blanket Hood and Dracularva Cape, by collecting Halloween goodie bags dropped by enemies.

Players will also be able to collect a variety of tasty candies, grow Grumpkins by finding Grumpkin seeds scattered across their game world, and discover eerie new equipment, including an exclusive Pumpkin Lantern and Samhain Curse Ring.

But the explorers aren’t the only ones playing dress up for Halloween… On your journey through the creepy caverns, you'll battle against enemies also getting into the spirit of the spooky season, including Big Larvas dressed up as vampires, Caveling Brutes as Frankensteins, and Cavelings who will be waiting around to shock you as eerie ghosts.

“We can’t wait to let players explore Core Keeper’s haunted Halloween caverns later this month, and for them to discover a variety of seasonal surprises we have planned,” said Sven Thole, COO & Lead Animator at Pugstorm. “Following the success of our first seasonal event earlier this year, we have been planning our second in-game event to bring some spooky fun to players ahead of our next major content update, The Desert of Beginnings, later this year. We’ve had a lot of fun creating the Creepy Costume Party update and are excited to see player’s reactions to the haunting new range of items and equipment.”

Core Keeper’s second major Steam Early Access content update — The Desert of Beginnings — is scheduled to launch in November, introducing a brand-new desert biome along with an exciting new vehicle, enemies, ore, equipment and colossal new boss, Ra-Akar the Sand Titan.
