Fang is a typical 18-year-old dinosaur: they’re more concerned about their band going viral than they are about what happens after graduation. But they’re about to have much bigger problems. Will they find time to figure themselves out? Can they balance navigating a changing world with a budding romance? During hard times, what do we owe each other? The team is also excited to welcome actor Lachlan Watson (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) who will lend her voice to Fang, the game’s playable protagonist.

Goodbye Volcano High is a queer narrative adventure game created by a diverse team: one of the key pillars of the studio.

Announced in 2020 and scheduled for 2021, then delayed until 2022, KO_OP has now further pushed back to Summer 2023.

The above trailer gives a sneak peek at the gameplay, showing off the branching dialog and revealing another of the game’s original songs “Don’t Call” (featuring Brigitte Nagger) as performed by Fang and Trish’s band Worm Drama.

In conjunction with the new trailer, developer KO_OP announced the Goodbye Volcano High will now be slated for release in Summer 2023.

The game was previously delayed in August of 2021, citing a narrative reboot and challenges related to working remotely in the midst of a global pandemic. This new delay is attributed to continued issues related to Covid and the ambitious scope of work for the small team, detailing more than 6,000 recorded lines of dialog and a substantial number of bespoke animations.
