Run & Slash your way through a dystopian future in this character action game which will resonate with fans of Devil May Cry, Strider, and Guilty Gear. Slave Zero X features 2D side-scrolling action where players string together brutal combos while traversing a dangerous 2.5D world.
From the top of Megacity S1-9, the Sovereign Khan rules with fists of iron and flesh. Beneath the city’s rotting foundations, a vengeful warrior embarks on a journey to murder him. 4 years prior to the events of Slave Zero, Slave Zero X brings new life to a world where horrific, living machines known as Slaves are primed to become the latest tools of war in humanity’s long and bloody history. A secret band of warriors known as The Guardians hope to stop these biomecha from being unleashed upon the world, but one swordsman among their ranks has a different idea: use the enemy’s own weapon against them. By merging with a stolen Slave Unit Prototype, Shou will become a furious Devil in pursuit of killing a false God.
In development by Poppy Works and Ziggurat Interactive, Slave Zero X will bring a whole new experience to fans of the original game. In Slave Zero X, players will don a death-dealing biosuit and do battle against the forces of the evil SovKhan. The game will feature multiple gameplay modes, and a variety of futuristic dystopian urban levels to battle through.
This new entry in the franchise is based on the concept drawings for the 1999 Dreamcast and PC game. With a biopunk flare and H.R Giger influence, the original vision for Slave Zero couldn’t come to fruition due to budget and development time. Now, Poppyworks with Ziggurat Interactive, bring that original vision to life in this fast-paced, hard-hitting, character action game in the unforgettable dystopian world of Slave Zero X.
Publisher Ziggurat Interactive revealed another of the accomplished voice actors lending their talents to this fast-paced, hard-hitting, biopunk action game — Mara Junot.
Mara Junot, known for her work that spans film and AAA video games including God of War: Ragnarök, Diablo Immortal, Teen Titans Go!, and Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, joins the cast of Slave Zero X as one of the five calamities, Enyo.
One of the Five Calamities Shou (voiced by Griffin Burns) will face in his journey, Enyo is an obsessive gun collector and killer for hire with fearsome accuracy — nicknamed “Beloved by the Bullet”. A firearm expert born out of a lifetime of mercenary work and a deep understanding of the mechanism and maintenance of her weaponry, her Exo-Suit and training also give her unparalleled mobility to get to any vantage point.
Enyo is the second member of the Five Calamities, the innermost circle of generals who answer only to the Sovereign Khan (SovKhan). She is cunning, sadistic, and takes pride in collecting Old World firearms and ammunition. Her loyalty to the SovKhan is temporary, as the only person she trusts is herself.
Enyo resents the biotechnology favored by the SovKhan, and sorely mistrusts his engineers. Her equipment is solely hers and purely mechanical, a rarity in the Megacity. Modern personal armor is designed to repel blows from a blade, not a bullet's increasingly rare penetrating sting. She takes full advantage of this while counting every shot taken, tallying her treasure and spending only when necessary.
