Prime Matter and Smilegate are teaming up for a new franchise, Crossfire: Legion, a futuristic, action-packed, modern take on classic RTS from Canadian-based RTS specialist studio, Blackbird Interactive.
Blackbird Interactive was founded in 2010 by Rob Cunningham, a former art director of Homeworld 1 and 2 and formed with a group of industry professionals who participated many hit games, such as Gears of War and Company of Heroes.
The new title was one of the key reveals when Koch Media launched its new premium gaming label and will see Prime Matter responsible for physical and digital distribution of the title across PC and console platforms.
Operating out of Koch Media's headquarters in Munich, Prime Matter is comprised of seasoned industry veterans and enthusiastic fresh faces creating a diverse team of multicultural gaming experts.
Prime Matter and Smilegate announced that a Crossfire: Legion demo is now available to experience as part of the Steam Next Fest.
Battle across three challenging maps in diverse settings and choose one of three factions and take control of their unique commander.
Fans of the game know about two of the factions already, but today marks the unveiling of the third faction – New Horizon – a global syndicate of corporations intent on transcending the limitations of humanity through the advancement, implementation, and integration of AI technology within all aspects of society.
Complimenting New Horizon are the other factions:
- Global Risk - a mercenary organization commissioned by world governments to settle global cases and disputes while maintaining their control over the planet's resources.
- Black List - a secretive break-away mercenary group by members disillusioned with the corrupt policies of Global Risk.
Crossfire: Legion has a launch window of 2022.
