'Lost Judgment' The Kaito Files Story DLC Planned For Later This Month - Screens

by Rainier on March 7, 2022 @ 8:45 a.m. PST

Lost Judgment weaves noir narrative and action-packed investigations into a mystery thriller.

Lost Judgment is being developed by the studio that is also responsible for the Yakuza series.

With fresh cases to crack in a new location, Lost Judgment combines detective work, film noir flair and action-packed battles in a mystery thriller with Takayuki Yagami as protagonist - a private detective who defends those who are not protected by the law.

Tokyo District Court, 2021.

A convicted police officer reveals the location of a murder victim’s body, the man who had once bullied his late son. Private detective Takayuki Yagami is called to investigate the impossible case of two crimes committed at once. But what starts out as a straightforward tale of revenge bleeds into a growing criminal network, a flawed legal system, and those who would take advantage of both.

It’s up to you6 and Yagami to hunt down the truth, even if it means scaling buildings, going deep undercover, or breaking out the martial arts to defend yourself when push comes to punch.

Do you have what it takes to solve the perfect crime?

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio today announced that The Kaito Files, a four-chapter story expansion for Lost Judgment, launches on PlayStation and Xbox platforms on March 28. The Kaito Files story expansion will be available at no additional cost for owners of Lost Judgment Ultimate Edition or the Lost Judgment Season Pass, and available separately for $29.99.

Play as the muscle of the Yagami Detective Agency, Masaharu Kaito, and take on a new case that ties up loose ends of his past in The Kaito Files. Kaito brings his own Primal Focus detective techniques and two beastly fighting styles to challenge new foes and crack the case with a distinct Kaito swagger.

Following the events of Lost Judgment, Kaito picks up a lucrative case while Yagami is out of town that unexpectedly has him searching for his old flame, Mikiko. Along the way, Kaito encounters Jun, a teenager claiming to be their son, and team up to uncover the truth behind Mikiko's disappearance. Now Kaito stands at the crossroads of past and present while up against a syndicate tied to Kamurocho’s criminal underbelly. But why did Kaito and Mikiko split up, and what does this dark faction have to do with her?

Features

  • His side of the story: Challenge all-new bosses with Kaito’s unique combat styles, scour Kamurocho for new collectibles, and dive into Kaito’s past in this larger-than-life drama expansion spanning four chapters.
  • Beast of the streets: Brazen, bold and always bombastic, Kaito is reliable in any fight, shake-down, or chase. Go beast mode with Kaito's aggressive Bruiser fighting style or crank up the defense with his Tank fighting style.
  • Trust your gut: No need for Yagami's fancy gadgets here; Kaito has his own sensory-based sleuthing style. Tap into Kaito's Primal Focus to literally sniff out clues, identify suspects and crack the case with his instincts

Key Features:

  • Law and Disorder: Lost Judgment puts players in the footsteps of a lawyer, Takayuki Yagami, who turns into a beating detective. Together with his partner, the ex-yakuza Masaharu Kaito, the duo is set on a supposedly perfect crime, whose main suspect seems to have a perfect alibi. What begins as a story of revenge leads to a fabric of conspiracies in which various factions want to take advantage of the broken legal system. But as the number of victims increases and Yagami gets closer to the truth, he increasingly has to choose between law and justice.
  • Freeform Combat: Yagami's fighting skills make it possible to deal with any situation in style - whether against groups or hand-to-hand. Various arts are available to him, Harness Crane, Tiger and the new Snake Style, a graceful fighting style that can be used to deflect enemy attacks and direct them against yourself.
  • Investigative Action: Yagami's arsenal of detective tricks is expanding with new gadgets, the secret tracking of suspects and sophisticated infiltration methods. In order to get closer to the truth, Yagami leaves no stone unturned.
  • No better place - players experience an authentic setting in the bustling inner cities of Tokyo and Yokohama that only RGG Studio can bring to life. The next favorite meeting point can be found in Club-SEGA and cases from regular guests can be taken over.

Lost Judgment is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox SerieS X|S.
