Bush Hockey League channels classic arcade style action (NHL 94, Blades of Steel, and Tecmo Bowl to name a few) with an old-school aesthetic from the 70’s era. No helmets, bench clearing brawls, and way too many mustaches to count can all be found in the Bush Hockey League.
That’s right - aggressive hockey is back in town!
Players will also get to experience a unique Story Mode in Old Time Hockey, something which has never been seen in a hockey video game. Set in the late 1970s amidst a poor economic climate and during the peak of the disco era in the United States, Old Time Hockey underscores the arduous story of a struggling team in the Bush Hockey League.
It's been a long time coming but V7 Entertainment announced that Bush Hockey League will be coming to Nintendo Switch later this Spring.
Letting Switch players get a taste of old school arcade hockey action was always the intention for BHL, but due to technical issues it wasn't able to happen until now.
Putting this port together was a passion project for the team at V7 Entertainment and this version has been uniquely customized with updates and tweaks to the core gameplay, improving the player'sability to deke, check, and slug it out on the ice.
Control schemes range from arcade 2-button controls, beer mode (one-handed) control scheme to more modern style. Play competitively or cooperatively on the couch with your friends in arcade mode, or take to the ice as the worst team in the Bush Hockey League in the hijinks-filled story mode!
Key Features:
- Play as 10 original teams, honouring hockey’s storied history.
- Story-mode let’s you take the down on their luck Schuylkill Hinto Brews from the Bush Hockey League dumps to glory!
- Score some beamers with your friends in competitive or couch co-op
- Drinking a beer and you don’t want to put it down? No problem! Bush League Hockey has a one-handed beer mode so you sip and rip some slappers.
Currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC, Bush Hockey League is coming to Nintendo Switch in Spring 2022.
