'Achilles: Legends Untold' Gets Steam Early Access Date - Trailer

by Rainier on April 21, 2022 @ 7:00 a.m. PDT

Achilles: Legends Untold is an isometric action RPG that draws inspiration from soulslike and hack & slash genres.

It's time to uncover the unknown pages of mythology! Confront the god of war in Achilles: Legends Untold and face your destiny.

Play as Achilles, the Greek warrior and hero of the Trojan War, who is recruited by Hades to confront the god of war Ares on his behalf. Face hordes of mythical beasts, mercenaries and demigods roaming the Earth. To do so, the hero sets out on a journey through ancient lands to find powerful, magical artefacts that will allow him to fulfil his mission as divine executioner. Hephaestus, the god of blacksmiths, will lend Achilles his helping hand by transforming any resources he gathers into new weapons.

The combat in Achilles: Legends Untold brings a unique isometric approach to traditional Souls-like gameplay. Learning enemy movements and timing your attacks will be key, while Dark Point Games also added devastating special abilities like the shield toss to overwhelm enemies with Achilles’ raw power. This way, Achilles: Legends Untold may be enjoyed by souls veterans and new players alike.

The gameplay features satisfying and skill-based combat, RPG elements, and resource management. Collect raw materials to bring to the forge to create new deadly weapons and sturdy shields to take Achilles to the peak of his power. As you watch Achilles become stronger and more ferocious with each ability you pick up, you as the player will also have to adapt to the world, as Achilles is not the only one picking up new tricks along the way.

In addition to the single-player campaign, Achilles: Legends Untold offers players who prefer fighting side-by-side with friends a robust co-op experience with procedurally generated dungeons to explore, allowing you and your friends to hone their skills even further.

Achilles: Legends Untold will be available through Steam Early Access on May 12, 2022 for $19.99 / EUR 18.99.

“Thousands of people played and enjoyed the beta earlier this year and thanks to their feedback we were able to really fine-tune the experience. We cannot wait to start our path into Early Access and hope that our players will follow our journey every step of the way” said Pawel Waszak, CEO and Lead Game Designer.

Achilles: Legends Untold features the innovative GAIA system, which means the AI characters’ actions feel lifelike and work together in unpredictable ways. Experience immersive battles in which monsters adapt to your playstyle, try different strategies or create ambush scenarios, all driven by this contemporary, in-house-designed system.

Inspired by action RPGs like Dark Souls and Diablo, Achilles: Legends Untold has a much lower level of entry. The creators wanted to make a game that would be more accessible to beginners, who are just starting their adventure with this type of gameplay. It doesn't mean, however, that Achilles: Legends Untold is a title aimed only at newcomers, because it is filled with optional challenging missions, which will certainly also satisfy experienced players.
