'Evil Dead: The Game' Partners With Wu-Tang Clan's Method Man For Original Anthem - Trailer

by Rainier on May 6, 2022 @ 9:55 a.m. PDT

Evil Dead: The Game is a co-op and PvP multiplayer title based on the Evil Dead franchise starring Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams.

Inspired by the iconic horror, humor, and action of the "Evil Dead" universe, Evil Dead: The Game brings the biggest characters from the franchise together in an over-the-top, gore-filled experience against the forces of darkness, starring boomstick-brandishing, chainsaw-wielding horror hero Ashley J. Williams.

Based on the "Evil Dead" franchise and characters created by Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert, and Bruce Campbell, the game casts players against the forces of evil that have been unleashed from the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, with sights and sounds inspired by the films "The Evil Dead,” “Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn,” and “Army of Darkness,” as well as the STARZ original “Ash vs Evil Dead” television series.

Work together as a team of four survivors, exploring, looting, crafting, managing your fear, and finding key artifacts to seal the breach between worlds. Or take control of the powerful Kandarian Demon to hunt Ash and his friends while possessing Deadites, the environment, and even the survivors themselves as you seek to swallow their souls!

Plenty of surprises await in this gore-filled battle against evil that captures the characters, horror, humor, and action from the franchise. Battle across memorable locations including the infamous cabin in the woods, brought to life with tons of terrifying visuals and all-new dialogue from Bruce Campbell. Discover more than 25 weapons, including Ash’s Gauntlet, Boomstick, and chainsaw, and advance in a variety of skill trees to grow stronger and survive in this fun co-op and PvP experience.

Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games have announced the release of “Come Get Some,” an original new song created by legendary recording artist and hardcore Evil Dead fan Method Man and renowned hip-hop producer Statik Selektah.

Produced by STATIK SELEKTAH with all music sampled from Joseph LoDuca’s original 1981 The Evil Dead score.

With vocal samples of Bruce Campbell as the iconic Ash Williams taken from Evil Dead: The Game. Also featuring Method Man’s son PXWER and U-God’s son iNTeLL of 2nd Generation Wu. Additional production by Steve Molitz. Method Man’s love for horror movies and the Evil Dead is well known, with multiple lyrical references over the years dating back to his classic “Dead by Dawn!” reference on 1999’s “N 2 Gether Now” with Limp Bizkit. The makers of Evil Dead: The Game reached out to Statik Selektah and Method Man to collaborate on an original song, and their response was pure fire emojis. The duo set off to create a proper Evil Dead banger in honor of the game’s over-the-top action, bloody ‘boomstick’ gunplay and ghastly Kandarian Demon banishing.

The track is available now on major digital streaming platforms and stores and will also be showcased in the official launch trailer for Evil Dead: The Game when it releases on May 13, 2022.

One of the most respected hip-hop producers in the world and a veteran of original soundtracks for franchises like Grand Theft Auto, Midnight Club, Max Payne and more, Statik Selektah built the soundscape for “Come Get Some” around samples taken from The Evil Dead’s original 1981 soundtrack, provided courtesy of renowned composer Joseph LoDuca, who created original music for the game, as well. The song also features guest verses from two members of the next generation of Wu-Tang Clan: Method Man’s son PXWER and U-God’s son iNTeLL.

The debut of “Come Get Some” follows the release of the game’s official theme song, created by long-time Evil Dead collaborator and Emmy Award-winning composer Joseph LoDuca and Saber Music Director Steve Molitz, earlier this week.

Pre-ordering any version of the game grants two bonus Ash outfits: the Ash Williams S-Mart Employee Outfit and Ash Williams Gallant Knight Outfit. The game’s Deluxe Edition includes the Season Pass 1, featuring four upcoming DLC packs.

Evil Dead: The Game is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on Friday May 13, 2022, followed by Nintendo Switch in the future.
