In Fortnite, players and their friends lead a group of Heroes to reclaim and rebuild a homeland that has been left empty by a mysterious darkness only known as “the Storm.”

Players will band together online to explore the world for resources, build extravagant forts, find or build insane weapons and traps as they protect their towns from the strange monsters that emerge during the Storm.

Here’s a quick rundown of what’s new (and returning!) with Naruto Rivals:

• Embody Your Ninja Way: In addition to their default Outfits, Itachi Uchiha, Gaara, and Orochimaru all come with an alt Style; the Hinata Hyuga Outfit comes with two alt Styles. Players can also unlock the Rasenshuriken Emote and Striking Shadow Snakes Emote. For a full list of Rivals Items and Bundles, and to see both Emotes in action, visit the Fortnite blog.
• Return to Konohagakure: Starting June 23rd, 8 PM ET until July 7th, 8 PM ET, the gates of the Hidden Leaf village will be open once again! Visit locations like the Hokage Residences, Ichiraku (best Ramen in the leaf village!), and the Hospital. Complete quests from Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi to gain XP and unlock other iconic locations.
• The Nindo Community Challenges Return: Up for the challenge? Starting today, The Nindo Community Challenges return! Unlock the paths of Itachi, Gaara, Orochimaru, and Hinata by completing their tasks in either Fortnite Battle Royale or Fortnite Zero Build to unlock Emoticons and—the ultimate rewards—the Akatsuki Wrap and the Manda Glider! Hurry, The Nindo will end on July 7th at 11:59 PM ET.

Naruto’s Rivals Join Team 7 in Fortnite

Naruto treasures his friends and would do anything for them. Now, some of Naruto’s friends (and foes) arrive to join the rest of Team 7 on the Island at 8 pm ET on June 23rd in the Item Shop!  Can’t wait for then? Itachi Uchiha

“How much can you see? With those Sharingan of yours?”

Itachi Uchiha is a former child prodigy who became the youngest Shinobi to join the Hidden Leaf Village Special Assassination and Tactical Squad (the “ANBU Black Ops”) — at only 11 years old. 

With his Mangekyō Sharingan, Itachi could place someone in a Genjutsu, where the victim is stuck in an illusion, with the flick of a finger. Combining this with his genius, he was a terrifying enemy to face.  After eliminating the entire Uchiha clan (with the exception of his little brother, Sasuke),  Itachi joined the criminal organization, the Akatsuki.

Throughout much of Naruto Shippuden, Sasuke was on a mission for one thing only, to become strong enough to avenge his clan and eliminate his older brother.

Gaara

“But then a single shinobi from the Hidden Leaf Village stopped me. I was his enemy, yet still he cried for me! Then he called me his friend even though we had battled. He saved me! We were on different sides... but we were both Jinchuriki…” 

Gaara of the Hidden Sand Village is (in)famous for being the Jiinchuriki host of the one-tailed beast, Shukaku. This Shinobi of the Hidden Sand Village grew up shunned for having the tailed beast hosted inside him. After a childhood of loneliness and derision, Gaara became violent and vengeful, that is, until he met Naruto Uzumaki.  From a rivalry to an amazing friendship with Naruto, Gaara found a new purpose that led him to become the fourth Kazekage leading the Hidden Sand Village. 

Orochimaru

"Real power is forged from the desire smoldering in the heart. It fans into a flame and begins to burn with an intensity scarcely imagined to be possible."

One of the three Legendary Sanin and a former Shinobi of the Hidden Leaf Village, Orochimaru eventually left to establish the Hidden Sound Village.  

Orochimaru has the ambition to learn all Jutsu, and in order to live long enough to do so, he uses multiple forbidden jutsu on himself as well as experiments on his followers and unwilling victims.  He’s recognizable through his serpent-like appearance and use of snakes — shedding his skin like a snake or summoning Manda: the giant boss snake from Ryūchi Cave.

Hinata

"You make mistakes. But because of those mistakes... you get the strength to stand up to them. That's why I think you are truly strong!" 

Hinata is a Shinobi of the Hyuga clan, famed for their extremely powerful visual: the Byakugan. Hinata was a shy kunoichi (female Shinobi) who watched and admired Naruto from afar. Through Naruto, she learned of her own strength. Their bond grew and eventually, Hinata wed Naruto and became the mother to their two children – Boruto and Himiwari.

Rivals Pickaxes, Gliders, and Emotes 

• Minato's Kunai Pickaxe: Often used with the Flying Raijin Jutsu.
• Sword of Kusanagi Pickaxe: Drawn from a snake's mouth.
• Gaara's Sand Cloud Glider: Ride a sand cloud with Desert Levitation Jutsu. (Only Gaara can ride the Sand Cloud.)
• Manda Glider: Orochimaru's reluctantly summoned companion. You can earn this item by participating in the Nindo Challenges instead of purchasing. Sign up: fn.gg/thenindo
• Rasenshuriken Emote: Summon a spinning ball of chakra.
• Striking Shadow Snakes Emote: A jutsu favored by Orochimaru.

Complete quests from Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi to gain XP and unlock other iconic locations like the Final Valley, the Chunin Exam arena, and even Naruto’s mind space with Kurama (the nine-tail fox).
