by Rainier on June 27, 2022 @ 8:31 a.m. PDT

Indie Live Expo announces that the sixth entry in the biannual live digital showcase connecting indie game fans all over the world will take place Dec. 3 and Dec. 4, 2022.

The news comes on the heels of the success of Indie Live Expo 2022, which set a new record of 15 million views across the two-day, six-hour showcase which highlighted more than 400 games.

Indie Live Expo Winter 2022 will continue the two-day broadcast format that began with Indie Live Expo 2022, and will highlight both currently-available games along with Indie Live Premieres of never-before-seen titles and new information for previously-announced games. The Indie Live Expo Awards return for its 3rd incarnation, honoring the best indie games from October 2021 to September 2022 as chosen by a worldwide panel of prestigious game journalists and experts.

Indie Live Expo 2022, the fifth event in the biannual showcase, was shown streaming across multiple platforms in three languages over two days, and with the help of more than 100 streamers simulcasting the show. Indie Live Expo has now reached more than 57.5 million views across five events since its inception in 2020.

Highlights from Indie Live Expo 2022 included the surprise launches like acclaimed shoot ‘em up Drainus from Team Ladybug and publisher PLAYISM and the announcement of the Nintendo Switch port of Steam smash hit Needy Streamer Overload. Day 2 featured new trailers for anticipated upcoming titles Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 and Read Only Memories: Neurodiver by CHORUS Interactive and MidBoss, among other world premieres.

“I saw someone say that Indie Live Expo 2022 ‘motivated me to develop my game’ and that really reminded me why we put on the show,” said Ryuta Konuma, Founder, Ryu’s Office. “We want to be a platform to not only help gamers find the next gem they’ll tell all their friends about, but also inspire developers by showing off their amazing creations. The support of our viewers, participating developers, and sponsors makes that all happen.”

The Indie Live Expo Organizing Team publishes the Indie Live Expo Letter, an e-mail magazine informing indie game creators of useful information for developing and promoting their games.
