'Rumbleverse' Final Network Test In July, Early Access Planned For This Fall

by Rainier on June 29, 2022 @ 2:08 a.m. PDT

Visit Grapital City, where you can brawl anywhere and be anyone! Enter a 40-person melee as you lay the smack down to be declared Champion in this Brawler-Royale.

Rumbleverse is a new free-to-play melee battle royale, firing up to 40 players out of a cannon and into the streets of Grapital City to unleash an ever-changing arsenal of elbow drops, powerbombs, and dropkicks as they scale, leap and vault across the city streets and rooftops.

The setting for Rumbleverse is Grapital City, a place that was built as a monument to the glorious traditions of melee combat. Every citizen of this island lives for the fight and dreams of becoming a champion, and you can become one of them. In this game, you’ll create a unique character to be shot out of a cannon to experience the Rumble. Dash through the city streets in search of upgrades to level up the way you fight and battle all challengers to be the last player standing – either alone or as a member of a tag-team.

Rumbleverse is what we call a Brawler Royale. If you’ve ever played a battle royale game, you’re in for some surprises. This is a chance for you to put down the long-range weapons and get up close and personal with your opponents. In Grapital City, almost anything can be a weapon and there is no structure you cannot climb. There is chaos around every corner. You can leap from rooftop to rooftop. You can suplex an opponent from the heights of the tallest skyscraper to the streets below.

Customize your fighter with everything from a chef hat, to a hotdog vest, to a chicken mask – with 14 points of customization you’ll be sure to create a character that’s wholly unique to you.

On Friday, July 8, Rumblers are invited to spend the weekend in Grapital City one more time before the launch of the game. For this fight, a very special prize hangs in the balance. To win, all you must do is play…

Final Pre-Launch Playtest
Starts: Friday, July 8, 12PM CST (7:00 PM CET)
Ends: Sunday, July 10, 12PM CST (7:00 PM CET)
Platforms: PC (Epic Games Store), PS4/PS5 (PlayStation Store), Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S (Xbox Games Store).

It was a blast to trade hits with players from all five platforms during the Cross-Platform Playtest! We saw a lot of great moves and heard some important feedback. Here’s a glimpse at how we’re responding to what we’ve heard players say.

“I want to play for longer!”
This next playtest gives you a full 48 hours to become a champion.

“I want to team up with my friends.”
Hang in there until Early Access begins this Fall.

“I want a tutorial that teaches me how to play.”
Early Access will also include a Playground Mode you can use to learn the ways of the Rumble.

“I want a beta reward that I can enjoy after launch.”
This final playtest is your chance to earn a limited-edition accessory!

Join us the weekend of July 8, and we’ll mark you down as a recipient of your first piece of gear after launch. This stylish, reflective vest will prove that you were on the construction site with us when Grapital City was still a work in progress. Show future Rumblers that you were an honorary member of our development team, helping us to build something amazing. They’ll envy you while you throw them into the sea.

We’re learning a lot from these playtests, so we’re moving up the window for launch up to this Fall. When you arrive on the Battle Barge, you’re not just there to have fun. You’re helping us make a game!

Save the date, Rumblers. We’ll follow up soon with instructions on how to download the Rumbleverse Network Test.

Rumbleverse is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with full support crossplay and cross-progression, making it easy to team up or battle it out with your friends no matter where you choose to play.
