2K set a tee time for PGA Tour 2K23, the forthcoming entry in the golf simulation video game franchise from HB Studios. 

Featuring PGA TOUR icon and all-time sports great Tiger Woods as the cover athlete, PGA Tour 2K23 celebrates Woods’ legacy by introducing him as both a playable in-game pro and an Executive Director advising the game development team.

Woods leads a roster of more than 14 male and female pros at launch (additional pros and courses will be added as free post-launch DLC and be available to all players), including Justin Thomas, Lexi Thompson, Tony Finau, Lydia Ko, Collin Morikawa, Will Zalatoris, Brooke Henderson and more. Players can step into the tee box as one of the pros in Exhibition, multiplayer and Divot Derby play, or go head-to-head with them in a battle to climb the leaderboard and claim the FedExCup in PGA TOUR MyCAREER mode. In addition to the pros, the broadcast-style presentation and commentary team of Rich Beem and Luke Elvy also return, with the addition of English golf pro and broadcaster Henni Koyack.

PGA Tour 2K23 is packed with enhanced controls, all-new playable male and female pros, and a diverse selection of game modes, including Topgolf.

While you’ve been striping drives and sinking putts in PGA Tour 2K21, we’ve been hard at work building on the features you’ve come to love and expanding them with more options to explore. Before you can officially hit the links in PGA Tour 2K23, we want to give you the tools you’ll need ahead of time, so you can compete at the highest level when you step on the tee box. Here's everything you need to know about the new controls, all-new first-time playable pros, breathtaking courses, and a plethora of features you’ll find in the most authentic golf simulation game to date.

ANALOG SWING

Crushing a drive off the tee box always starts with a confident approach. Before you even grip the club, you need to feel comfortable with your setup, which is why we’re giving you the option to choose between the standard analog swing stick swing and the new 3-Click swing in PGA Tour 2K23.

If you’re looking for a swing that mirrors a traditional real-life golf movement, the analog swing stick swing should be a good fit for you. To begin the motion, pull straight back on the analog stick and time your push forward as the power meter reaches the sweet spot for a silky smooth shot laced down the fairway.

Tempo and timing are crucial with your windup; swinging too quickly will hook your shot and being too slow will cause a slice. A seamless, fluid follow-through will produce quality shots—and a rush of excitement. Many players will feel right at home with this classic swing technique and will become fairway finders in no time.

3-CLICK SWING

Making its debut in the PGA Tour 2K franchise, the 3-Click swing requires you to hold and release the A/X button (depending on your platform of choice) for power, and tap it twice to line up your swing path and club face angle. It’s as simple as one, two, three.

The presentation differs from the traditional 3-Click swing mechanic you might've seen in past golf games: you’ll see a circular power meter displayed as you take your stance, rather than a horizontal bar. Regardless of whether you’re hitting a normal iron shot, pitching, or chipping, the meter shape won’t change.

To start your shot, hold down the button to the desired power and time your release as it nears the power circle; exceeding the recommended range will result in an overpowered shot or vice versa. After you release, a green dot will start moving counterclockwise at the bottom of the circle, quickly tap the button at the top of the circle to determine your swing path. Tapping the button a second time as it reaches the bottom hash mark will determine an open or closed club face.

At any time, you can change the difficulty settings, but it will tweak the swing speed of the meter—unlike the Analog Stick. Experiment with the Analog Stick and 3-Click swings to find which works best for you in PGA Tour 2K23.

PLAY AS THE PROS

PGA Tour 2K23 is the only place you can play as, or against, Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Lexi Thompson and more. The 11-time PGA Tour Player of the Year leads a diverse group of talented, playable pros you can swing with in-game. In year’s past, you’d only be able to compete against the pros, but for the first time in the PGA Tour 2K franchise you can take control of golf’s biggest names.

As if having one of the greatest athletes of all-time isn’t enough, we’re including another one as a playable celebrity pro: Michael Jordan. Drain long range, high arcing shots with one of the NBA’s greatest scorers around the green and from the fairway. Jordan is just one of the many of the playable celebrities in PGA Tour 2K23, but you’ll have to wait for the rest.

PLAY GOLF LIKE NEVER BEFORE

PGA Tour 2K23 offers a variety of game modes and formats for your enjoyment. In our last game, multiplayer featured the always chaotic Divot Derby, where players raced from the tee box to the pin as fast as they could to be dubbed victorious, along with Online Societies where you could challenge fellow players around the world in one- to four-day tournaments. These popular formats are making their return in PGA Tour 2K23, along with traditional Stroke and Match Play—but we’re excited to welcome Topgolf into the fold.

Best enjoyed with friends and family, this real-life entertainment venue is now part of PGA Tour 2K23, where good times and laughs can be had locally or online. Step onto one of the many hitting bays solo or with up to three other players, and paint the glistening skyline with a barrage of white golf balls. Take turns hitting 20 balls each and try racking up points by aiming for the assortment of colorful circular and square targets. The player with the most points at the end of the round will be crowned victorious.

SHARE YOUR COURSE CREATIVITY

Let your imagination run free with the PGA Tour 2K23 Course Designer. There’s already an expansive library of licensed courses in-game, but why not add your own to the mix?

Using a deep toolbox of objects and features you can piece together 18 holes of majestic beauty, spend hours designing a hazardous swamp with treacherous rivers abound, create a dense woodland links-style course that weaves through towering trees, and much more. The only limit is the one you set on yourself. Unleash your creativity and share your masterpiece with your friends and the community by uploading it.

PGA Tour 2K23 features exhilarating courses, competitive formats to prove your skills, more modes to fuel your creativity, and a star-studded cast of pros led by Tiger Woods. 

PGA Tour 2K23 will include 20 licensed courses at launch. New additions include the South Course of Wilmington Country Club, The Renaissance Club, St. George’s Golf and Country Club and more. The industry-leading Course Designer also returns, offering players the opportunity to build their dream courses and share them with a global online community.

MyPLAYER personalization returns and players can equip their MyPLAYERS just like Tiger with Nike Golf, TaylorMade and Bridgestone Golf apparel and gear. Even more apparel options are available from licensed brands, including Callaway Golf, FootJoy, Malbon Golf, Nike Golf, PUMA, Titleist, TravisMathew and more (some cosmetic items and consumables may require unlocking with virtual currency (earned or paid) or via gameplay). Clubs and balls from brands including Bridgestone Golf, Callaway Golf, COBRA, Mizuno, Odyssey Golf, Scotty Cameron, TaylorMade, Titleist and Wilson are available to deck out players’ golf bags and keep them swinging with swag. In addition to the returning analog stick swing, a three-click swing option is also available for an added level of customization so players can play the way they like.

PGA Tour 2K23 offers new casual modes to help rookies get into the game, while giving seasoned players new challenges and opportunities to work on their skills. The introduction of Topgolf offers a unique experience emulating the popular golf entertainment phenomenon, where players can aim for targets and try to earn the highest score. Training mode offers multiple ways to develop skills, including swing calibration, lessons, chipping practice, a driving range and a putting green.

Online multiplayer features (cross-gen but not cross-platform) also return for PGA Tour 2K23. Online Societies encourage players to squad up with friends for custom tournaments and full seasons, while Clubhouse Pass will provide post-launch content and goals for players to enjoy well into the future. PGA Tour 2K23 Standard Edition:
