'Warframe' Veilbreaker Update Will Add New Quest, Styanax WarFrame, Weekly Missions And More - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Aug. 26, 2022 @ 1:29 p.m. PDT

WarFrame is a free-to-play fast-action co-op focused shooter set in an evolving sci-fi world.

Set in the far reaches of outer space during a new Dark Age, WarFrame introduces the Tenno, a race on the brink of extinction after being enslaved by the Grineer for centuries. Players enter WarFrame on the cusp of the Grineer's victory over the Tenno until they begin to arm themselves with WarFrames - an ancient exo-skeletal technology only they can operate. Hidden within the Orokin Derelicts of a lost civilization, new WarFrames lie dormant and undiscovered. These artifacts are the Tenno's only hope for survival.

WarFrame is a free-to-play fast-action PvE shooter set in an evolving sci-fi world. Some would call it MMO-Lite as squads of four players band together to advance their characters and battle the oppression of the genocidal Grineer. Throughout their combat missions, players will continually increase the power and abilities of their WarFrame and weapons. Players will raid new areas of space searching for exotic and powerful weapons and WarFrame augmentations to customize their arsenal. With WarFrame's Automatic Mission Generator, the game will offer endless replay as levels are procedurally configured for a unique raid -- every time.

Revealed in a first-of-its-kind animated short, Warframe is celebrating an iconic milestone with the release of the online action games 50th playable Warframe, Styanax, which can be instantly added to all player Arsenals for a limited time completely free when Veilbreaker launches for all platforms in September.

Inspired by the ancient Greek warrior Astyanax, Styanax is a mighty and herculean Warframe with formidable abilities and immense power for Warframe players to master on the Origin System. The new animated short delivers nonstop thrills as the first-ever extension of the Warframe entertainment universe and follows Styanax as he helps restore order to the Origin System after a group of Corpus settlers follow through with a nefarious agenda led by a harrowing cult leader, The Philanthropist.

Master the Might of the 50th Warframe, Styanax, and His Herculean Abilities

  • Axios Javelin - Call upon the Axios Javelin. Any enemy Styanax strikes with his javelin is pushed back. When the javelin propels an enemy into a wall, the area suffers a burst of damage.
  • Tharros Strike - Summon Tharros, the shield of Styanax. Swing Tharros to repel enemies and reduce their shields and armor. Styanax regenerates health for every enemy struck.
  • Rally Point - Draw enemy attention to Styanax. His resolve uplifts nearby allies, regenerating their energy and shields. Shield regeneration increases with the number of enemies near Styanax.
  • Final Stand - Exude might and valor. Rise into the air and throw a barrage of Axios Javelins. The javelins deal damage to nearby enemies wherever they land. Direct hits to enemies deal even greater damage.

Alongside the release of Styanax, Warframe’s Veilbreaker update is set to deliver unprecedented action as fan-favorite Grineer Kahl-175 returns as a playable character in a new Quest following the events of the critically-acclaimed update The New War. After a curious signal is picked up by Daughter of the Entrati family, the Tenno are contacted to investigate a Murex ship near Deimos and find its source. As Kahl, players will utilize new powerful abilities and tech gained along the way to fight their way through a Sentient onslaught and returning Archon boss enemies aboard the Murex while circumventing their intriguing technology to locate and safely release his brothers from imprisonment.

In addition to a new single-player Quest, Warframe’s Veilbreaker update is set to add a slew of new playable weekly missions with Kahl-175 at the center of the action, offering expansive cooperative action combat and allowing players to increase Kahl’s overall rank as missions are completed and earn new customizations along the way. With Warframe’s new Veilbreaker update, players now have even more opportunities to be the savior of the Origin System.

Advance In-Game Personalization with New Robust Customization Options

Veilbreaker brings Warframe players more than just next level hands-on action with a variety of new Customizations, Accessories, and QOL adjustments also debuting in-game in September including new Warframe Voidshell Skins, exclusive Kahl-175 cosmetics, the release of the Protea Caladrius Collection, and reworks to select systems including Thrown Weapons. With the Protea Caladrius Collection, the tactical gadgeteer Protea gets a deluxe transformation offering a fresh new look and a bold new aesthetic that brings a unique alternative look and completely overhauls her appearance. This all-new collection includes the Protea Caladrius Skin – inspired by the caladrius bird of Roman mythology, the Daecret Tonkor Skin, Montivus Throwing Bombs Skin, and the Ascension Speargun Skin.
