“Game currently includes complete scenery that contains nearly 500 km of routes created with the use of real geodetic data: Katowice - Sędziszów and Katowice - Warszawa. Five vehicles are available for players to drive: EU07, ET25 Dragon, E186 Traxx, ED250 Pendolino EMU, EN76/EN96 Elf EMU and four types of passenger and cargo carriages. Singleplayer and multiplayer modes are already available, with possibility of play as train driver or traffic dispatcher. Available features include dynamic weather, realistic physics model and sounds.”

In SimRail - The Railway Simulator, the player can play both the role of the train driver and the role of the dispatcher (or, as specialists will say, a traffic controller). The single-player driver mode offers us specific scenarios to play, in which we have to safely drive the selected train on one of several lines, respecting the signaling and speed limits.

The player can drive freight, suburban, express trains, and even Pendolino! The creators ensure that the distances between the stations are exactly the same as in reality, and thanks to the use of geodetic data, even the slope of the line is mapped, which can be easily checked: if we stop on the slope and release the brakes, the train will start to roll down!

The multiplayer mode, in addition to all the possibilities of the singleplayer mode, allows us to take the wheelhouse of the dispatcher. In short: We can direct the train to any track in the station, remembering about passengers and not to divert two trains to the same track! When passing trains between stations, we have to cooperate with other players using a prepared communication system (text and voice). The smoothness of the game is ensured by AI, which immediately take over our roles in the event of inactivity or leaving the game.
