For the first time in the history of the series, the depth and drama of the world’s leading football management simulation series arrives on PS5. Tailored to the Dualsense controller, FM23 Console will release alongside the PC/Mac title.
After a year’s absence, the Touch series returns to Apple devices through the Apple Arcade platform. Whether they’re using an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV, Apple Arcade subscribers will be primed to make their mark on and off the pitch in FM23 Touch.
FM23 thrusts fans closer to every aspect of the beautiful game, from the supporters filling the stands to scouts, players, opposition managers and newly-licensed competitions like the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League. SEGA/Sports Interactive will be unveiling new game features in the coming weeks across the Football Manager social media channels, the Football Manager website and FMFC, our Football Manager members’ hub.
Originally planned for November 8, 2022, but delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, SEGA and Sports Interactive announced that Football Manager 2023 is now scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5 on February 1, 2023.
FM23 Console will now launch with a 20% discount for all PlayStation Plus subscribers which will be redeemable until Tuesday, February 14th at 15:00 GMT. The discount total is consistent with the pre-order incentive that ran prior to the initial intended release date.
Miles Jacobson, Sports Interactive’s Studio Director, said: “We’re delighted with today’s update that we’re finally going to be able to get FM23 Console into the hands of PS5 gamers. Since the initial delay, the team at Sports Interactive and our colleagues at SEGA have worked tirelessly with Sony to overcome the issues and we’re pleased to now have a release candidate ready to launch next week.
“While it's unusual for us to release a game during a major football transfer window, our priority from the moment our initial launch was postponed was to get the game into the hands of PS5 gamers as quickly as possible. Once all the global transfer windows are closed, we will provide a data update for the PS5 edition in line with the updates for all of our other platforms.”
Fans purchasing physical copies of FM23 will notice that this year’s edition does not include a disc. Instead, every pack contains a unique code that, once redeemed, enables play via Steam, Epic Games or the Microsoft Store.
Removing the disc and notebook from this year’s edition, in addition to further refinements to our eco-packaging, means that the overall carbon footprint for FM23’s packaging is 47% lower than FM22’s. All in all, the overall gCO2 equivalent of the Football Manager packaging has fallen from 256 for Football Manager 2019 to just 66 for FM23.
Currently available for Mobile (iOS/Android), Nintendo Switch, Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S (Xbox Game Pass), Apple Arcade and PC, Football Manager 2023 is coming to PlayStation 5 on Feb. 1, 2023.
