'Skald: Against The Black Priory' Comes To PC And Mac In Spring 2024 - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Dec. 18, 2023 @ 4:35 p.m. PST

Skald: Against The Black Priory is a nostalgic RPG that combines the charm of classic role-playing games with richly illustrated grim-dark fantasy and Lovecraftian horror.

You drag yourself from the black tides, across the corpses of drowned men, and onto the unwelcoming, craggy shoreline. Gulls cry overhead and the stink of seaweed fills your nose. By some miracle you have made it to Idra. It will take all your skill to survive and unravel the eldritch mysteries of the Black Priory. Pray your sanity holds.

‘Skald: Against the Black Priory’ is an old-school roleplaying game that combines modern design and a fully realised narrative with authentic 8-bit looks and charms.

Skald: Against the Black Priory lets adventurers delve into an elaborate fantasy setting full of horrific monsters and memorable characters. Explore hand-crafted environments and engage in gripping turn-based combat as you unravel SKALD’s sinister secrets through lovingly drawn pixel-art illustrations and multiple-choice dialogues.

Despite its nostalgic charm, Skald: Against the Black Priory is packed with smoothly integrated enhancements and will appeal to RPG fans old and new alike.

Do you have what it takes to lead a company of broken heroes from the tainted shores of Idra to the gates of the Black Priory - and beyond?

Developer High North Studios and publisher Raw Fury have revealed that SKALD: Against the Black Priory will launch in spring 2024 on PC and Mac via Steam and GOG.com.

Interested fans can check out a free playable prologue on Steam and GOG.com.
