Set in the far reaches of outer space during a new Dark Age, WarFrame introduces the Tenno, a race on the brink of extinction after being enslaved by the Grineer for centuries. Players enter WarFrame on the cusp of the Grineer's victory over the Tenno until they begin to arm themselves with WarFrames - an ancient exo-skeletal technology only they can operate. Hidden within the Orokin Derelicts of a lost civilization, new WarFrames lie dormant and undiscovered. These artifacts are the Tenno's only hope for survival.
WarFrame is a free-to-play fast-action PvE shooter set in an evolving sci-fi world. Some would call it MMO-Lite as squads of four players band together to advance their characters and battle the oppression of the genocidal Grineer. Throughout their combat missions, players will continually increase the power and abilities of their WarFrame and weapons. Players will raid new areas of space searching for exotic and powerful weapons and WarFrame augmentations to customize their arsenal. With WarFrame's Automatic Mission Generator, the game will offer endless replay as levels are procedurally configured for a unique raid -- every time.
Nominees for Best Performance, award-winning actors Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3) and Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI), will be joining the Warframe voice cast in Digital Extremes’ upcoming Whispers in the Walls and Warframe 1999 Cinematic Quests.
The Canadian studio is also sharing the official dates for its annual TennoCon Warframe fan event, making its way to RBC Place in Digital Extremes’ hometown of London, Ontario July 19-20, 2024 - a newly expanded version of the record-breaking fan event with two days of activities, signings, panels, and a ton of surprises at every turn.
For the last eight years, TennoCon has been the event that Warframe’s 75+ million players look forward to, dishing out the game’s biggest reveals of the year and putting players in the immersive front row seat. In 2021, TennoCon engagement thrusted Warframe towards breaking new in-game peak concurrency records with hundreds of thousands of players in-game, and over on Twitch, excitement for Digital Extremes’ reveal of The New War established Warframe as the only game in Twitch’s Top Five Highest Peak Concurrent Viewer streams of the year. The 2023 edition of TennoCon finally brought players back together for an in-person experience and next year is poised to be bigger, better, and even more engaging than ever before.
Here is a little more information about Ben and Neil’s role in Whispers in the Walls and Warframe 1999:
- Neil Newbon’s role is a bit more under wraps, and players lured in will discover his iconic performance as Fibonacci, the leader of the new ‘Cavia’ Syndicate hidden away inside Whispers in the Walls.
- Ben Starr will be joining as Arthur, a character introduced for the first time at TennoCon 2023 when Digital Extremes revealed its Whispers in the Walls and Warframe 1999 Cinematic Updates. Players can go hands-on with Whispers in the Walls when the Update launches for all platforms in December. Warframe 1999 will be available next year.
Warframe is available on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
