From the makers of The Horus Heresy: Legions, get ready for a genre-defining CCG with fast, strategic gameplay, innovative game modes, awesome art and a deep love for Warhammer 40,000 showing through in every detail!
In Warpforge, players will immerse themselves in the lore of Warhammer 40,000 through single-player campaigns exploring each of the warring factions. They will then fight in draft and constructed competitive modes, in both regular play and time-limited competitions with unique rules of engagement. Committed players will be able to take part in massive alliance wars, which will test the mettle of even the most seasoned veterans.
From the resolute armies of the Imperium to the corrupted forces of Chaos and the myriad Xenos races, each faction will feature very different play styles and tactics. Several of the best-known factions will feature upon launch, with regular expansions bringing in more armies, races and characters to do battle with.
Developer Everguild is thrilled to announce the release of a brand new army, the Black Legion, and a new draft game mode. Players will be able to charge with this inexorable Chaos faction and test their drafting prowess during Steam's upcoming Digital Tabletop Fest: Blood & Dice, available from March 23rd to 27th on Steam.
As one of the greatest threats to the survival of the Imperium, the Black Legion will offer players a devastating arsenal of game mechanics to erase their enemies from the battlefield, astonishing artwork, and immersive sound design. Added to the existing armies like the brutal Orks of the Goff Clan, the renowned Ultramarines Marines, and relentless Necrons from the Sautekh Dynasty, Warpforge is a must-play for fans of the Warhammer 40,000 universe and digital card games alike.
Beyond this first hands-on experience with the Black Legion in Warhammer 40,000 Warpforge, the game will also be updated with an entire new draft game mode. In draft mode, players will not fight using a set of prebuilt decks but will instead build their decks on the spot by choosing a Warlord and randomly offered packs of three cards from that faction. After starting a draft run, they will face players in PvP matches to test their mighty deck on the battlefield. Which faction will stay on top and achieve the greatest win streak?
During the event, Everguild will also showcase the latest updates of the recently launched Shadow of the Warmaster expansion for Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Legions and take part in the “Blood on the Cards: Conflict and Competition in Card Games” roundtable to explore why card games make such good competitive play during the Digital Tabletop Fest: Blood & Dice.
Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge is set to launch in 2023 onto PC (Steam). Other platforms will follow, including a mobile version with full cross-platform support.
