Slide inside an advanced Mecha-Suit, capable of dimensional rift travel, and hack & slash countless enemies, build up your base, collect samples, and research new inventions. As Captain Ashley S. Nowak, “the Riftbreaker”, you enter a one-way portal to Galatea 37, a distant planet at the far reaches of the Milky Way galaxy, with the purpose of building up a base that will allow travel back to Earth, and further colonization. Ashley’s Mecha-Suit, which she calls “Mr. Riggs”, can withstand the harshest environmental conditions and has a full range of equipment for base construction, resource extraction, specimen gathering, and of course –combat. It is also capable of traveling through rifts that connect space across vast distances.

The Riftbreaker: Into the Dark DLC arrives May 29th, 2023, along with the second free World Expansion! They are jam-packed with awesome new features and content to explore. Let us walk you through all the additions to the game that we have been working on for the past couple of months.

The biggest addition that comes with this update is the new biome - Crystal Caverns. Ashley and Mr. Riggs discovered an expansive network of caves, corridors, and caverns that span for miles below the surface of Galatea 37. They are rich in natural resources of all kinds, making them a prime target for our intrepid crew of explorers. However, we already know that Galatea 37 does not like sharing its riches with anyone. Our heroes will have to face a host of creatures they have never seen before and learn the inner workings of the complex ecosystem of Crystal Caverns.

All players will be able to explore Crystal Caverns in the Survival Mode as a part of the free World Expansion update. It will allow you to make use of all the new game mechanics, including manual cave excavation.

The World Expansion II free content update:

• Crystal Caverns biome - an underground network of caves and caverns for you to explore.
• A new Survival Mode scenario taking place in the new biome.
• An entirely new cavern-digging mechanic. Use Mr. Riggs’ drilling arm or explosives to clear out the space you need for expansion.
• Multiple new species of creatures, unlike anything you’ve seen before. Fight hordes of fearsome monsters lurking around every corner.
• More than 70 new research items and technologies to further enhance your base and Mr. Riggs’ abilities. Use drones to collect resources and valuable loot. Expand your energy grid using the Energy Relay Stations.
• New weapons and defensive towers. Build powerful weapons that will obliterate anyone threatening your base. Slice through your enemies with Bouncing Blades. Send a devastating barrage of energy projectiles with the Laser Gatling Tower.
• Numerous quality-of-life improvements, including the long-awaited Building Ruins feature.

The second major part of the upcoming update is the paid story-based DLC with a new portion of the Story Campaign. A series of anomalous neutrino bursts and unusual seismic activity will lead Ashley and Mr. Riggs to face a world-ending threat within the expansive Crystal Caverns biome.. Our heroes will have to progressively dig deeper underneath the planet’s surface to uncover the source of terrifying creature mutations.

The Riftbreaker: Into the Dark paid DLC:

• Experience an exciting new branch of the Story Campaign taking place in the underground Crystal Caverns biome.
• Establish a unique subterranean Outpost by excavating soft limestone rock and shaping the environment to suit your needs,
• Expand your Campaign Mode technology tree by researching unique technologies that can only be acquired in this biome.
• Collect information on new creatures, vegetation, and other curiosities found only in this underground environment.
• Repel attacks from massive tunnel-digging beasts using new weapons and technology.
• Adapt your base-building methods to make the most of the terrain-shaping abilities and novel power-generation mechanics.
• Discover previously unknown details from Ashley’s past.
• The Story portion of this Expansion is integrated with the Main Campaign from the base edition of The Riftbreaker. The new branch and the contents of the expansion will unlock as you progress through the game. If you have previously completed The Riftbreaker Story Campaign, you can continue your adventure where you left off. The additional part of the Story will unlock immediately, giving you the option to explore the new part of the world.

The Riftbreaker: Into the Dark DLC will be available on the 29th of May, 2023, at $9.99. The free World Expansion II update accompanying the release of the DLC will be released the same time.

Key Features:

• CAMPAIGN - take on an epic journey across all the different biomes of Galatea 37. You will establish multiple persistent bases across the globe that will fuel your economy. Research alien substances and lifeforms, as well as fight hordes of alien creatures, clearly not happy with your interference in the natural order of the planet. The campaign spans multiple hours and offers a remarkable degree of freedom in a super detailed, procedurally generated world. You can decide on the order of your priorities and what technologies you want to use. You’re the only human there, after all.
• SURVIVAL - your mission is to survive a set amount of time, fighting off increasingly difficult waves of enemy creatures. Each mission in the game is randomized, offering nearly endless replayability. 
• SANDBOX - if intense fight for survival is not your thing either, then try out the Sandbox mode, where we give you control over the entire game – including resources, enemy spawns, and weather conditions.
• BASE BUILDING - Your task is to construct a two-way rift back to Earth. This will be a very complex undertaking requiring enormous amounts of energy. Simple solar collectors and a few tons of steel will not be enough. You will need to build up an intricate chain of mines, refineries, powerplants, and research facilities to complete this mission.
• EXPLORATION - Galatea 37 is an unknown planet in the Sycorax belt of the Milky Way. Long-distance surveys have detected that it is inhabitable and perfect for colonization. The planet is full of rare minerals and substances that can be found in various locations around the globe. Varied biomes can surprise you with unknown fauna and flora as well as harsh weather conditions. Construct local outposts in resource-rich locations that will transport the required resources using rift technology.
• DEFENSE - Your presence on this planet will not go unnoticed! As you build up your industry and disrupt the natural order, the world will start seeing you as a threat. Build up your defenses. Construct walls, barriers, and defense towers as the attacks get stronger with every passing day. You will face thousands of hostile creatures trying to eliminate your presence.
• HACK, SLASH, SHOOT - Mr. Riggs can be equipped with powerful weapons and abilities that will allow you to take on the largest of beasts. You will need to be ready to face lots of hostile alien creatures as you scout the planet.
• GATHER SAMPLES AND STRANGE ARTIFACTS - Fallen beasts will drop valuable research specimens as well as rare resources. Use everything you can gather to research and craft new technologies, buildings, weapons, and equipment. You can also scout the terrain using your sensors and dig for treasure buried underground.
• RESEARCH - Use the samples that you’ve gathered to research new technologies that will help you build up your base, improve your defenses, develop new blueprints for your Mecha-Suit, or improve existing technologies.
• CRAFT - Mr. Riggs is fully customizable and upgradeable. Use the blueprints that you’ve researched to craft new parts and weapons. Utilizing better materials for the crafting process results in developing gear with improved properties. Each crafted item has unique properties.
• CUSTOMIZE YOUR GAMEPLAY - The Riftbreaker’s gameplay can be customized to fit your playstyle. You can change the frequency of enemy attacks as well as their strength and numbers, resource abundance, weather events, enemy damage, and tons of other settings. There are also multiple difficulty presets to suit the needs of both hardcore strategy players as well as those that want a laid-back base-building experience.
• INTERACTIVE STREAMING - The Riftbreaker has built-in integration with the most popular streaming services out there.
