'The Elder Scrolls Online' Necrom Chapter Is A Great Entry-Level New Adventure - Trailer

by Rainier on June 13, 2023 @ 11:45 a.m. PDT

The Elder Scrolls Online is the first Elder Scrolls game to allow gamers to explore the legendary Elder Scrolls world with others.

Explore a rich, living world with friends or embark upon a solo adventure. Enjoy complete control over how your character looks and plays, from the weapons you wield to the skills you learn – the choices you make will shape your destiny. Welcome to a world without limits.

Battle, craft, steal, siege, or explore, and combine different types of armor, weapons, and abilities to create your own style of play. The choice is yours to make in a persistent, ever-growing Elder Scrolls world.

Discover the secrets of Tamriel as you set off to regain your lost soul and save the world from Oblivion. Experience any story in any part of the world, in whichever order you choose – with others or alone.

Using ZeniMax Online’s Megaserver technology, players will join one connected world with a built in social network that lets them stay up-to-date with everything their friends are doing.

Megaserver technology avoids the hassle of shard selection and makes The Elder Scrolls Online one of the most socially enabled games ever created.  Whether playing alone, or with hundreds of friends, players can develop their own style of play as they embark upon an epic quest across Tamriel.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom, launching on June 20, 2023, will return players to the alien lands of Morrowind, to adventure in its unexplored eastern regions. The Chapter will also introduce fans’ most requested feature: a new playable class, the Arcanist. The Arcanist will bring new abilities and mechanics and marks the third new class introduced since the game launched.

There’s tons of adventure and excitement for the ESO community to discover come launch day – some that may be familiar for fans who have played The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind or The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim — all steeped in Elder Scrolls lore, but if you’re a brand-new player, don’t worry!

This new Chapter is the perfect starting point for your own journey into The Elder Scrolls Online, too.

There Are No Level or Progression Requirements

Just like almost every other region of Tamriel in ESO, there are no level caps or restrictions on the Necrom Chapter’s two new zones — the Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha — and storyline. When you enter either area, your character is automatically battle-leveled to meet almost all the zone’s challenges. No need to play previous Chapters or content first.

In addition, as an ESO Chapter, like all previous Chapters, Necrom features its own standalone story, so even if you’re just starting your Shadow Over Morrowind adventures, you can dive right into this adventure and not have to worry about missing any key details or plot points.

There’s Something for Everyone

There are countless ways to play ESO, and depending on what kind of player you are, you’re bound to find something that excites you in the Necrom Chapter. Are you all about exploration and questing? The Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha zones are packed full of side quests, unique locations, and secrets. Do you enjoy group PvE content? Why not tackle the Chapter’s numerous world bosses or the new group event?

Even if you’re eager to try out the game’s various PvP modes, the new Arcanist class brings all kinds of powerful abilities to Tamriel’s many battlefields. In Necrom, there’s an activity for every type of player.

Play Solo or with Friends

While you can certainly experience the Necrom Chapter solo, ESO is the perfect game to play with your friends too, regardless of whether you and your allies are the same level. Your level 10 Arcanist can play with and have plenty of fun teaming up with your veteran friend’s level 50—tackle Tamriel together!

If you don’t have any friends to play with, don’t worry. The ESO community is extremely welcoming, and using the in-game Guild Finder is a great way to ensure you can find a community of like-minded adventurers. You can even filter guilds by your preferred activities. Find a community!

You Can Become an Arcanist

To adventure in Tamriel, you need to create a character, which means you need to select your appearance, race, and importantly, class. As it so happens, Necrom introduces an all new-playable class for all players to master, the Arcanist. Designed with variety and versatility in mind, the Arcanist can perform any of the game’s three core roles (damage, tanking, or healing) thanks to its three unique skill lines.

Empowered by the Daedric realm of Apocrypha, your Arcanist is the perfect class for a champion of Hermaeus Mora (the Daedric Prince of Knowledge) and your adventures into Necrom. In ESO, we want you to play your way and create your own unique builds, and because the Arcanist adapts to every playstyle, it’s ideal for somebody who wants to try a little of everything.

The Elder Scrolls Online is currently available for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC
