Publisher Dotemu and developer Tribute Games reveal the details on an all-new Survival Mode for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge’s DLC Dimension Shellshock.
As part of the recently announced Dimension Shellshock DLC, Survival Mode introduces collectible crystals that allow you to jump from dimension to dimension, with each dimension featuring its own unique look and feel. The extended footage tours the Edo dimension, inspired by Japan; the four Turtles in 8-bit backgrounds; and Splinter, Casey, April and Usagi in Omnichannel 6.
The new mode allows players to level up and grow stronger through runs across dimensions. After they die and have collected enough crystals, they unlock a new life, ninja power bars, Radical Mode and extra hit points. Players will also be granted the ability to skip dimensions, and Dimension Shellshock will come complete with flashy new character colors.
Dimension Shellshock brings a new playable fighter in the razor-sharp Usagi Yojimbo, star of the self-titled comic book series and a fan favorite ally to the Turtles seen in previous cameos across the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series and action figure releases. The steely rabbit samurai unsheathes his blade in the new gameplay trailer above, diving between dimensions to dish out justice while sharing a first glimpse at the new style of inter-dimensional battles awaiting the Turtles.
The DLC includes a new game mode, fresh original music from the soundtrack’s composer Tee Lopes, and alternative color schemes for playable fighters, all of which will be detailed at a later time. Separate from Dimension Shellshock, a second free update will be released for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge offering an additional range of color palette options.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge’s enemy groups scale in size based on the number of players kicking shell, making 6-player multiplayer a totally intense showdown against Shredder’s minions. Piling friends on the same couch isn’t the only way to play together; online multiplayer for 2-6 players has been confirmed, with heroes able to drop in and out of play at any time.
