by Rainier on Aug. 10, 2023 @ 2:41 p.m. PDT

Set in an urban concrete jungle, Side Bullet is a free-to-play side-scrolling take on the Battle Royale shooter where players will be pitted against both each other and strange monsters.

Choose a fighter from one of eight cartels including Psychos, Special Agents, and Prisoners. Each cartel offers its own passive skill known as a Unique Perk, also  special weapons can be used together with active skills known as Perks.

Use your guns in conjunction with your grappling hook for smooth, agile precision platforming. Defeat strange monsters to acquire more powerful weapons and supplies. Unlock perks as you play and customize your battle experience. Infinite possibilities await!

As a free-to-play game, Side Bullet offers microtransactions, but these aren’t pay-to-win bonuses. Instead, there are Item Bundles, which include customizable cosmetic items, such as costumes, furniture, emotes, and more bundled together at a low price, as well as the Premium Battle Pass that allows players to earn various additional rewards on top of their existing Free Battle Pass rewards.

South Korean developer PressA revealed all new info detailing the nine cartels that players can choose from in  Side Bullet

Set in an urban concrete jungle, players will be pitted against both each other and strange monsters. Choose a fighter from one of nine cartels, each offering its own passive skill as a Unique Perk.

Here’s a brief overview of the different cartels players can choose from:

  • King Juarez - The Gangsters - Led by drug lord Miguel de Juarez, this cartel is armed with staggeringly strong shields and high machine gun damage.
  • Vedmak - The Prisoners - A killer group of criminals gifted with extra high health and extra fast-firing submachine guns, allowing for hot-blooded brutality.
  • Saraph Scouts - The Soldiers - This multinational mercenary group is equipped with extra high shotgun damage and strong armor for those who like to get up close and personal.
  • SEED - The Agents - This informal organization of crooked cops and retired agents are equipped with high rifle and light machine gun damage, along with a shorter grappling hook cooldown for enhanced mobility. They’re fast and mean business.
  • EEPHUS - The Hipsters - A disruptive cabal of free spirits who rebel against the system. This cartel allows you to play ahead of everyone with extra fast sniper rifle reloading speeds and starting coins.
  • DMC12 - The Nerds - A criminal cartel of gaming enthusiasts who rule the dark web. Their generous magazines and high grappling hook damage make for a tactical threat.
  • Rocket Cowl - The Psychos - This ruthless psychopathic cartel loves nothing more than explosions and reveals their strength through explosive weapons.
  • NOMAD - The Rookies - A group of lone wolves unaffiliated with any cartel. Their fast reloading and recovery rate allow Nomads to play aggressively.
  • EFFICENT - The Scientists - These mad lab rats will do anything for the sake of academic curiosity. They can deal electricity damage to all firearms and have a short cooldown on mechanical special weapons, allowing for efficient play.

Cartels have a number of special weapons, weapon-specific parts, and skill customizations for these unique traits. Even if you choose the same Cartel, there are many strategic options within them, so create your own strategy

At launch Side Bullet will include Battle Royale Solo and Battle Royale Trio modes, more content will be introduced  in future updates.

Side Bullet will be coming to PS5 in 2023 as a free-to-play title.
