'Cult Of The Lamb' Celebrates 1st Anniversary With Don’t Starve Together Crossover Event, New Game Mode - Trailer

by Rainier on Aug. 21, 2023 @ 3:10 p.m. PDT

Cult Of The Lamb is an adorably dark game about running a cult in a crumbling world of ritual and ruin, utilizing a powerful gameplay loop of base building and dungeon crawling.

Start a cult, grow your flock, cleanse the non-believers. Repeat.

Cult Of The Lamb casts players in the role of a possessed lamb saved from annihilation by an ominous stranger, and must repay their debt by building a loyal following in his name. Start your own cult in a land of false prophets, venturing out into diverse and mysterious regions to build a loyal community of woodland worshippers and spread your Word to become the one true cult. Every excursion into the sprawling realm reveals increasing hordes of new and more dangerous enemies, as well as rival cults whose influential leaders must be defeated in order to absorb their power and assert your cult’s dominance.

On returning to your base you must fulfil the needs of your followers in order to receive their devotion. Use resources to build new structures, perform dark rituals to appease the gods, and give sermons to reinforce the faith of your flock. As their devotion to you grows, so too will your power, allowing you to venture further into the mysterious forest and discover more of its dark secrets.

The decisions you make as leader will determine how your followers see you - will you be loved or feared?

To commemorate Cult of the Lamb’s first anniversary, anthropomorphic occultists Massive Monster and sustenance enthusiasts Klei Entertainment have united under the eyes of the Beast for a blasphemous new crossover event, starting today.

Cult of the Lamb has initiated the brand-new Penitence game mode, in which the Lamb will need to eat and sleep to survive, along with their followers. However, a unique Webber follower form has broken free from mortal constraints and will never die of starvation. Use them wisely.

New decorations for your cult, straight from the world of Don’t Starve Together, will help to distract you from those troublesome stomach pains as you continue to grow the One True Cult.

Don’t Starve Together will also benefit from the Lamb’s first birthday with a new Cult of the Lamb crown trinket that can be found in the Oasis. The crown can be given as a tribute to the Antlion, which will reward players with blueprints to craft a Tabernacle base decoration, speed-boosting Brick Flooring and fancy new Gold Flooring.

A limited-time login bonus will grant players a free item and pet skins to bring the Lamb and their gear to their next world.

Both games are currently on sale on your platform of choice and along with these free crossover updates, it's the perfect time not to starve your cult.

Key Features:

  • BUILD YOUR FLOCK: Collect and use resources to build new structures, perform dark rituals to appease the gods, and give sermons to reinforce the faith of your flock.
