The player becomes a Descendant in the game and is given a mission to fight against the invaders for the survival of humans and to protect the ‘Ingris continent’. The player can experience a spectacular story by growing stronger through various missions and stories to finally discover the Descendants' secret. You can also feel the First Descendant’s unique atmosphere through high-quality fields developed with Unreal Engine 5 and gain a new experience of reality and SF fantasy coexisting in one place.
The gameplay includes strategic boss fights with 4-player tactics, grappling hooks, unique character abilities, gripping gunplay, and tons of looting. After clearing missions and defeating enormous bosses, players can unlock powerful new characters, equipment, and upgrades.

As of today, players can preload The First Descendant to prepare for the Crossplay Open Beta, which is happening from Tuesday, September 19 (midnight PT) through Monday, September 25 (11:59p PT) on PC via Steam, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
NEXON announced that The First Descendant’s upcoming Crossplay Open Beta will be available to anyone who registers at the official website. NEXON Games is working to ensure all enlisted Descendants are able to experience the title optimally on any platform of their choice.
During the Crossplay Open Beta players can become a Descendant and fight for the survival of humanity as various charming characters with unique skills, exciting and dynamic gunplay, strategic boss fights against the mighty Colossi, and more in this third-person action-packed RPG shooter with up to 4-player online co-op. Players can visually stand out on the battlefield by customizing their Descendants’ color schemes, skins, and weapon aesthetics.
Players will also get to experience new features and improvements that have come directly from previous playtest feedback; shared via The First Descendant’s Discord and other official channels. NEXON Games prioritized optimized performance, substantial content additions, updated gameplay, enhancing mechanics, and significant quality-of-life adjustments.
Additionally, players can experience an epic playable Prologue at the launch of their gameplay to learn why the Vulgus invaded the Ingris continent; why Karel, the new Vulgus leader, is trying to get a hold of the Iron Heart; how humanity will fight back and much more.
