Run & Slash your way through a dystopian future in this character action game which will resonate with fans of Devil May Cry, Strider, and Guilty Gear. Slave Zero X features 2D side-scrolling action where players string together brutal combos while traversing a dangerous 2.5D world.
From the top of Megacity S1-9, the Sovereign Khan rules with fists of iron and flesh. Beneath the city’s rotting foundations, a vengeful warrior embarks on a journey to murder him. 4 years prior to the events of Slave Zero, Slave Zero X brings new life to a world where horrific, living machines known as Slaves are primed to become the latest tools of war in humanity’s long and bloody history. A secret band of warriors known as The Guardians hope to stop these biomecha from being unleashed upon the world, but one swordsman among their ranks has a different idea: use the enemy’s own weapon against them. By merging with a stolen Slave Unit Prototype, Shou will become a furious Devil in pursuit of killing a false God.
In development by Poppy Works and Ziggurat Interactive, Slave Zero X will bring a whole new experience to fans of the original game. In Slave Zero X, players will don a death-dealing biosuit and do battle against the forces of the evil SovKhan. The game will feature multiple gameplay modes, and a variety of futuristic dystopian urban levels to battle through.
This new entry in the franchise is based on the concept drawings for the 1999 Dreamcast and PC game. With a biopunk flare and H.R Giger influence, the original vision for Slave Zero couldn’t come to fruition due to budget and development time. Now, Poppyworks with Ziggurat Interactive, bring that original vision to life in this fast-paced, hard-hitting, character action game in the unforgettable dystopian world of Slave Zero X.
Ziggurat Interactive reveals the final actor lending their talents to Slave Zero X!
Elizabeth Maxwell, known for her work in popular titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Attack on Titan, RWBY, and Fire Emblem Engage, lends her voice to the character of “X” in this unforgiving dystopia set in the same world as the original Slave Zero™ (1999).
Elizabeth Maxwell’s skills span the gaming and animation industries alike. She’ll be using her wealth of talent to bring to life one of the main characters of the brutal hack-and-slash title: X, the biosuit wielded by the main character, Shou.
Created by the SovKhan for his "Slave" project, X is a Prototype Biomech Embryo that demonstrated signs of early self-actualization and ego—sentience. Not having any need for Slaves with wills of their own, the SovKhan had her marked as "defective" and disposed of...or so he thought. An "X" labeled on her container, she was discarded by Dark Matter scientists and then discovered by the Guardians beneath the rotting foundations of the Megacity. Shou, the strongest of the Guardians, merges with X to augment his formidable abilities in pursuit of devilish retribution. Now, they act as one, both fueled by a desire to enact vengeance on the tyrant that rules the Megacity.
