'Headbangers Rhythm Royale' Season 3 Begins in April, Adds New Game Mode And More - Trailer

by Rainier on March 13, 2024 @ 5:14 p.m. PDT

Headbangers Rhythm Royale challenges players to put their feathered foot forward and engage in a medley of musical minigames to reign triumphant as the Master Headbanger.

Headbangers Rhythm Royale challenges players to take on 29 other player-controlled pigeons across four increasingly tense rounds, testing their memory, rhythm, reflexes, reaction time, and most importantly … their ability to rap!

Featuring crossplay enabled multiplayer, no pigeon is too near (or too far) to join in on the Headbangers Rhythm Royale fun. Regardless of their platform of choice, players can fly in for some melodic minigame madness with their feathered – and un-feathered – friends*. No pigeon can take to the dancefloor without some perfunctory pruning, and players will have to battle their way through the rounds, collecting delicious (if slightly stale) breadcrumbs that grant access to a wardrobe bursting full of outfits, customizations, and taunts to rub their hard-earned victory in everyone’s beaks.

*Team17 Digital and Glee-Cheese do not endorse actual birds playing Headbangers Rhythm Royale. They would be too good, realise their unlimited power, and set their sights on world domination…

Glee-Cheese and Team17 Digital have today announced that season three, ‘Battle of the Dancers’, will launch on  April 4th.

Battle of the Dancers includes a brand-new game mode that challenges players to put their best talon forward in a one-on-one rhythm battle and includes a selection of new choreography and tracks. The new mode will test players ability to stay on the beat, utilising various powerups to grant them the edge over their feathered nemesis as songs get progressively more challenging, until finally, one pigeon fails and the survivor reigns victorious.

In Battle of the Dancers, your aim is to play the music in Rhythm, with perfect timing and using the correct buttons. Hit all buttons in a row without any mistakes and you’ll begin filling up your fireball gauge. You guessed it, when this gauge fills you’ll send a devastating fireball at your opponent, which lowers their health bar. Battle of the Dancers is separate from our tournament mode. In our tournament mode for Headbangers, players tap, flap, and rap their way to victory in a series of manic musical mini games against up to 29 other player-controlled pigeons, battling their way to become Master Headbanger.

Key Features:

  • Ruffle feathers: Memory, rhythm, reflexes, and reaction times will be put to the test across 23 minigames, each with their own unique musical twist
  • Preen away: With hundreds of unique items to choose from, including full outfits, hats, glasses, voices, and taunts, players can take the top spot and fluff their feathers with their very own personalised pigeon
  • Peck and earn breadcrumbs: Challenges and unlockable customisations await in the free in-game battle pass, with players able to spend their hard-earned crumbs to help them be the most stylish pigeon in the flock
  • Cross-flock support: Play with up to 29 other pigeons with crossplay enabled, friends and frenemies alike can battle in musical madness regardless their gaming platform of choice
  • Talon tapping music: With unique scores across each minigame, loading screen, and pigeon accessory menu, the party never stops with the bespoke scores written and created by the Glee-Cheese team.

Headbangers Rhythm Royale is available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
