Forest Hills: The Last Year is the premier horror asymmetrical born from the depths of horror and madness! Craft deadly weapons and fight back against deadly slashers and monstrous horrors as one of the Displaced on a team of 5, or hunt down those Displaced in the Nightmare and devour their souls in a never-ending cycle of death and rebirth as one of the nightmarish Fiends.
Team up with four other Displaced players to survive a gauntlet of objectives which change depending on the map. Fiends ally with Cryptid minions that'll continuously stalk and hunt the other players, ticking down the clock until all is lost.
For these Displaced survivors, their last moments in the waking world was filled with confusion and fear. After being transported to a nightmarish copy of their hometown through a series of occult rituals unbeknownst to them, they soon find out that they're not alone, and that to escape they’ll have to work together against all manner of Fiends and Cryptids lurking in the shadows.
Developer Undaunted Games announce that Forest Hills: The Last Year will be collaborating with legendary horror icon Troma Entertainment (known for iconic cult classic horror films, including The Toxic Avenger, Class of Nuke ‘Em High, and Tromeo and Juliet) to add a themed map, Displaced, environmental objects, and a special Fiend inspired by Troma Entertainment Films.
The partnership will also include new classes, including one where players can turn into the heroic Toxie from The Toxic Avenger.
“Troma is one of the most iconic names in horror, and we’re honored to be able to bring their surreal cast of characters into Forest Hills: The Last Year,” said Mark Waterworth, Creative Director. “In expanding Forest Hills, we have a lot of real estate to bring in crossovers from across the horror universe - and maybe even beyond. We have plenty of future partnerships coming down the line that we can’t wait to share, so stay tuned!”
"Toxie and I could not be more excited to be partnering with Undaunted Games as they expand the fan-favorite Last Year universe with Forest Hill: The Last Year," said Lloyd Kaufman, President of Troma Entertainment & Creator of The Toxic Avenger. "Undaunted Games embodies the commitment to independent art and renegade spirit that’s been Troma’s Passion and smoked meat for half a century. We can’t wait to see what kind of poutine this young (but mighty) company makes with Toxie and his friends. Alors, let’s play!"
On top of sharing more information about their partnership with Troma Entertainment, Undaunted Games will be unveiling a new cemetery-themed map and their latest Fiend, the Warlock. The new magic-themed killer uses shadow and flame magic to destroy unsuspecting Displaced. PAX East attendees can explore the new map and test their survival skills against the Wizard by playing the new demo.
Fans can learn more about Forest Hills: The Last Year by visiting the Undaunted Games team at PAX East in Boston from March 22 to 24 at booth 13085 in the Exhibitors Hall, right across from the Tabletop Area next to Gate 11.
Which Displaced will you pick? Choose from 7 of the Displaced members of Forest Hills, and assign them a Class to get special skills. The more you work well with your teammates, the better your chances of survival. And the more you survive, the more scrap you scavenge, which unlocks powerful makeshift weapons and gear to craft and take the fight to the Fiends.
Supernatural entities living in The Nightmare, the dreadful Fiends take the form of quintessential horror archetypes, and each have unique powers, weapons and play-styles. Decide whether to attack the Displaced head-on, or meticulously plan your attacks by setting up traps, preparing ambushes, and toying with your prey.
Regular content updates in the form of Chapters will bring new, terrifying Fiends and ever-more-dreadful areas inspired by different genres of horror, with more changing up the gameplay and making Forest Hills the ultimate multiplayer horror experience.
Forest Hills: The Last Year is coming to PC (Steam) in Summer 2024.
