Developer Elder Games and alt-indie publisher Headup are excited to announce a significant new Steam Early Access update to Soulslinger: Envoy Of Death.

We have just released our first major update, The Forgotten Graveyard Update. In this patch, we are introducing a completely new realm, a new boss, a new weapon, new enemies to defeat and much more. We also made some balancing changes and fixed some bugs.

Forgotten Graveyard

Welcome to the Forgotten Graveyard! Are you ready to face the challenges that await you in a realm controlled by The Countess? Be prepared to fight ferocious monsters that you have never faced before to reach her.

But if you manage to defeat her, you will be rewarded with her precious weapon, the Night Quartet. It operates differently from the other weapons you were able to use before, as it has a cooldown mechanism. This means that you can fire it as many times as you want without having to reload it, but be cautious about overheating it!

Blood Essence and Spectral Essence

Blood Essence is used for a set of powerful new abilities focused on absorbing the blood and spirits of your opponents to heal yourself, deal more damage, or enhance your ultimate skill. However, some of these abilities are consumed upon use. Utilizing the Blood Essence abilities can give you an edge in challenging battles and help you in seemingly impossible fights.

To obtain Spectral Essence skills, you must venture into the treacherous 'Forgotten Graveyard'. These abilities are unique and powerful, for example, you can unlock explosive homing projectiles that can hunt down your targets and deal massive damage, or trade in your dash for a double jump.

Power Totem

The Power Totem is another new addition to Limbo. You can now spend the tears you've collected on permanent upgrades that will help you in your fight against the Cartel. You can upgrade as much as you want to get even stronger, as there is no end to the Power Totem—however, the cost increases each time.

This is the complete changelog for update 0.445:

  • New realm: the 'Forgotten Graveyard'
  • Added four new enemies
  • New boss: 'The Countess' can be defeated at the end of the Forgotten Graveyard
  • New weapon: the 'Night Quartet' is a cooldown-based 4-shooter that you can loot from the Countess
  • Added the 'Spectral Essence' and all its related abilities and perks, you can access these in the Forgotten Graveyard
  • Added the 'Blood Essence' and all its related abilities and perks; you can access these after beating the King's Guard for the first time
  • You can now construct the 'Power Totem' at Haven; this allows you to upgrade Soulslinger's stats infinitely
  • You can now construct the 'Orb of the Seer' at Haven, this keeps track of your stats and efficiency
  • Replaced the visuals of the Poison Bullet explosion with a much better looking and more impactful visual effect
  • Movement with a gamepad is now based on a curve and has a deadzone, so moving the left or right thumbsticks will now respect the strength of movement
  • All missing items are now indicated in the Workshop, along with instructions on how to get them

  • Reduced the length of time dilation caused by the Darkened Moment ability
  • All AOE dash abilities now trigger 100% of the time
  • Removed Healing Shards as separate rewards, these became redundant (the Blood Essence has the exact same perk)
  • Healing Shards can still be acquired as boss rewards or at the challenge arena
  • Reduced the health of the Cursed King from 9000 to 6000
  • Reduced the impact circle of the stones thrown by Cartel Brutes
  • Reduced the gravity of the Ardent Assassin's fireball projectile, making it slightly more effective

  • Fixed a bug which caused massive stutter at cut-scene transitions when DLSS was enabled
  • Fixed a bug where the crafting screen status was not immediately updated upon collecting resources from the Bestiary
  • Fixed a bug where the hidden gate downside obtained with a Death perk would never reset after loading a saved game
  • Fixed a bug where saving the game immediately after beating the Cursed King would result in a corrupted saved game
  • Fixed a bug where an empty or corrupted perk would be displayed when picking up a reward
  • Tons of visual fixes and tweaks to make sure VFX doesn't overwhelm the screen
  • Improved the map selection algorithm to make sure maps are repeated less frequently

Along with the update detailed below, Soulslinger: Envoy Of Death will participate in Steam’s FPS fest from April 15-22, during which the game will be significantly discounted!

Key Features:

  • Fast-paced, story-driven roguelike FPS set in random sequences of rooms built in a unique western-fantasy world
  • Customize Soulslinger through a deep upgrade system
  • Experience a tightly written story filled with loyal allies and charismatic villains. The story adapts to what you do in the roguelike gameplay
  • Tons of gun fodder creeps that attack in waves, spiced up by challenging elite mobs

Soulslinger: Envoy Of Death is coming to PC (Steam) in 2024.
