'Nightingale' v0.3 Early Access Update Adds Offline Mode, Build-From-Storage and More - Trailer

by Rainier on May 22, 2024 @ 10:33 a.m. PDT

Nightingale is a shared-world survival crafting game set within a rich Victorian gaslamp fantasy setting.

Nightingale is a first-person, PVE, open-world survival crafting game played solo or cooperatively with friends. Explore alone or band together with other survivors, obtaining valuable materials to construct settlements, and craft vital tools and weaponry as you fight against deadly monstrosities and the Fae, humanity’s magical rivals.

Thrown into a labyrinth of fantastical and perilous worlds in the wake of a magical cataclysm, players must venture through mystical portals to explore increasingly dangerous realms, in search of the last haven of humanity, Nightingale.

You are stranded beyond our world, cut off by the collapse of the arcane portal network. This catastrophe has left you fighting to survive in a labyrinth of beautiful and dangerous Fae realms.

Your goal: become a skilled Realmwalker, and navigate the web of transdimensional portals. Only then can you discover your way to the magical city of Nightingale, the last known bastion of humanity.

Inflexion Studios released Update 0.3 of Nightingale, which includes the game’s highly-requested offline mode. Alongside offline mode, Update 0.3 implements the build-from-storage option, dynamic tiered creatures, new Bound enemies, a community event and much more.

Offline mode is perfect for solo play and allows players to explore the Realms without an internet connection, even during server maintenance. As a “version 1” of offline mode, several other features are in development to complement the initial release, including cloud saves, character migration from online mode and continuous performance enhancements. Stay tuned for these updates in the coming months!

Version 0.3 also introduces the build-from-storage function, which streamlines construction. Players can also face new tiered creatures whose drops and unique looks adapt to Realm difficulty. Furthermore, players can take on new varieties of Bound enemies, tackle new questlines and try an updated early-game experience with the option to skip tutorial and choose a starter character loadout.

To celebrate the update, a special community event is now live in Nightingale! Head to the vendor beside Sasse in your Abeyance Realm, then collect new Hopeful Essence from Wisps to trade for event rewards.

“Since the Early Access launch, we’ve been hard at work implementing feedback and creating a better player experience overall,” said Aaryn Flynn, CEO of Inflexion Games, “The introduction of offline mode is a significant milestone in the Early Access journey and one of many exciting updates we have planned for the coming months. We already feel like we’ve come along leaps and bounds since we launched just three months ago and we look forward to sharing more updates in the future.”

Nightingale is available through Early Access via Steam, Epic Games Store and GeForce Now for $29.99 / £24.99 / €28.99.

Key Features:

  • Survive The Realms: Prepare to make your way through Faewild forests, harrowing swamps, shimmering deserts, and shadowy jungles as you unlock the portals leading deeper into the lands of Fae. Cook meals, build shelter and muster the spirit to persevere in the face of adversity.
  • Gather & Craft: Craft tools to harvest trees, ore, and plants, along with rarer resources found deep in the realms. Discover new schematics and assemble the equipment and weapons you need to survive. Using specialized ingredients and arcane technologies, you can enhance your gear with magical properties.
  • Build & Manage: Design and construct an impressive estate from a variety of styles and tilesets. Upgrade and customize your structures, and form communities to safely live off the land. You can even recruit NPC workers to help expand your homestead, automate production, and assist in resource gathering.
  • Explore & Discover: Freely roam expansive realms, where stunning visuals will transport you into a mystical Gaslamp Fantasy world. Find the abandoned remnants of past Realmwalker expeditions, investigate mysterious Fae architecture, and scout derelict ruins. Through every new portal, beauty and danger await you in equal measure.
  • Co-op Or Solo: Adventure solo, or play cooperatively with your friends in an online shared-world realmscape. Combine your strengths, skills, and resources to survive and thrive together. Work together to build communal estates, join up in uncovering the mysteries of the realms, and unite in facing the challenges of the Fae.
  • Deadly Encounters: Craft and wield a variety of melee weapons and firearms in first-person combat. Confront the fearsome creatures that lurk in the portal network. Fend off incursions by the twisted Fae mimicries of humanity known only as the Bound. Join other players against colossal apex creatures in the deepest reaches of the realms.
