by Rainier on June 9, 2024 @ 12:47 p.m. PDT

Starfield is a next-generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, where you create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom.

The year is 2330. Humanity has ventured beyond our solar system, settling new planets, and living as a spacefaring people. From humble beginnings as a space miner, you will join Constellation — the last group of space explorers seeking rare artifacts throughout the galaxy — and navigate the vast expanse of the Settled Systems in Bethesda Game Studios’ biggest and most ambitious game.

In this next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, you will create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom as you embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest question: What is out there?

Harnessing the power of next-gen technology and built on the all-new Creation Engine 2, Starfield takes you on a journey through space as you strive to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.

Bethesda Game Studios revealed the first details for Starfield: Shattered Space, the new story expansion for Starfield.

A mysterious power stirs in the city of Dazra on House Va’Ruun’s hidden homeworld. Investigate a frightening cosmic threat, explore a new planet, and find unique weapons, spacesuits, and gear in this all-new adventure.

When a distress signal from a derelict starstation sparks a journey to Va’Ruun’kai, the veil of secrecy surrounding the worshippers of a deity known as “The Great Serpent” is finally lifted. Immerse yourself in the dark and complex world of House Va’Ruun, as you navigate a tense political landscape, uncover the history of the Va’Ruun people and help decide the fate of the faction in the wake of a cataclysmic event.

Explore a new location, take on new enemies and experience the story of House Va’ruun when Shattered Space launches later this year.

Also announced today is Starfield’s June Update. Available to download tonight on PC and Console, Starfield’s June update includes the launch of Creations, new bounty hunting features and all new Trackers Alliance missions, enhanced melee combat , and more.

JUNE UPDATE HIGHLIGHTS

The June Update is now available to download on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Explore the June Update and Creations further in this deep dive video featuring members of Bethesda Game Studios and some of the Verified Creators.

CREATIONS

Perhaps the largest new addition in the latest update is the inclusion of Creations in Starfield. From subtle tweaks to ambitious adventures, Creations brings vast opportunities to a universe-sized sandbox. Discover and play exciting newcontent from Creators and Bethesda Game Studios through the Creations menu and explore Starfield like never before.

The Creation Kit, the official toolkit for Starfield, is also now available to download for free on Steam and puts the power to create new content in your hands. Anyone in the community can make Creations and upload them to the Creations platform for people to enjoy. Interested in going from hobbyist to professional? TRACKERS ALLIANCE

Join the Trackers Alliance in a free new mission available as part of the June Update. The StarJacker is the first mission in a series of bounty hunting quests. To start your journey with the Trackers Alliance, a mysterious Tracker will show up in various settlements across the Settled Systems. They’ll invite you to their headquarters in Akila City for a trial mission. Track down an elusive individual who is wanted for stealing starships and earn some new gear for completing the job.

New Trackers Alliance missions will be available periodically through the Creations menu, but you don’t have to wait long for the next one. The second mission in the Trackers Alliance series, The Vulture, is available for purchase in the Creations menu today.

Starfield Premium Edition owners will receive 1,000 Creation Credits to celebrate the launch of Creations. Redeem your Creation Credits on any available content in the Creations menu, including the next Trackers Alliance mission.

SCANNER BOUNTY SYSTEM

Continuing the bounty hunting theme introduced with Tracker’s Alliance, the latest update adds a new Bounty Scanner System. Scan the citizens of the Settled Systems as you explore, and you may find some carrying a bounty. From there you can choose how you confront them. You can try to persuade them into finding a peaceful resolution to the situation…or you can resort to more extreme methods.

MELEE WEAPON IMPROVEMENTS AND AMMUNITION CRAFTING

The June Update adds improved tiers for melee weapons as well as the ability to improve your melee weapons at crafting benches. You’ll now see melee weapons with higher damage in the game that you can then take to a crafting bench to improve further.

In addition to the improvements to the melee weapon system, you can also now research the types of ammunition you like at a Research Station and craft them at an Industrial Workbench! No need to fear running out of ammo for your favorite gun when you can just hunker down and make some more.

Find the full patch notes for the June Update here.

You’re part of Constellation now. Part of our family.

Starfield is available for Xbox Series X|S and PC. Play it day one with Xbox Game Pass.
