'Lost Records: Bloom & Rage' Is A Two-Parter, Gets Release Dates, Shows Off Gameplay - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Aug. 20, 2024 @ 6:41 p.m. PDT

Bloom & Rage is the first game in the Lost Records universe and is a brand-new story-driven journey through time from the creative minds behind Life is Strange.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a narrative adventure game set in the fictional town of Velvet Cove in the summer of 1995, a magical summer of self-discovery and forging unbreakable bonds

Four high school friends – Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat – spend the summer together hanging out, playing music, and becoming best friends... until something changes the trajectory of all their lives. After 27 years of silence between them, they reunite to confront the dark secrets that made them promise to never speak again.

At the start of the summer, Swann gets to know a group of friends – Nora, Autumn, and Kat. She spends the summer forming close bonds with each of them: Nora, rebellious, eccentric and full of energy; Autumn, the thoughtful and charismatic group leader; and Kat: pragmatic, strong-willed and enigmatic. Four very different personalities and perspectives come together on that fateful summer of ‘95 to uncover secrets that will bind – and break – the group.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage will be released in two distinct parts, a month apart. A natural break in the story means that players will be able to start discussions, share theories, and eagerly anticipate the next part in the story.

The First Look Gameplay trailer offers a look into the gameplay of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, including the navigation between the dual timelines of 1995 and 2022, using Swann’s camcorder to film her summer, and of course, making dialogue choices in the game. We see the dynamic dialogue system, which promises another level of immersion: it can change based on where you look and what you say, and players can choose to ignore and interrupt other characters, which makes conversations feel more real and choices more important than ever.

As well as our participation in Opening Night Live, DON’T NOD is excited to have a space not only in the B2B area but also the B2C space, with a themed photo installation booth in Hall 5.1’s Cosplay Village. Fans anticipating the game, or who just want to take cool pictures in a '90s garage, can come along and take home a memorable keepsake from the universe of Lost Records. Several activities will be ongoing throughout gamescom, such as a meet and greet with the development team and special giveaways.

DON’T NOD is also pleased to announce a partnership with Maximum Entertainment to bring Lost Records: Bloom & Rage to the physical market for PS5.

The release date for the physical version of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage on PS5 will be announced in due course.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage will have a soundtrack made up of original tracks composed for the game and licensed music to tell the story of Swann and friends. As with the song featured in the announcement trailer at The Game Awards 2023 by Nora Kelly, the song featured in the Lo-fi Summer trailer is another original track composed for Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. The music is written and performed by Ruth Radelet, Adam Miller and Nat Walker.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 1 is coming to PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 on on February 18, 2025, followed by Tape 2 on March 18, 2025
