'Narcalid' Available On Steam Early Access - Trailer

by Rainier on Aug. 8, 2024 @ 2:28 p.m. PDT

Narcalid is a puzzle platformer with peaceful exploration and mighty challenges in a strange, unknown world.

Narcalid is a cooperative enlightenment journey emphasizing peaceful exploration that teaches real-life meditation skills as you decipher cryptic messages from the past. Immerse yourself in the beautiful and broken remains of once great civilizations, but stay aware… the Narcalid is a powerful threat that should not be underestimated!

From the ancient texts that move along the narrative to the multiple environmental hazards of an unknown territory, Narcalid challenges you to see the universe differently. The deep spiritual principles embedded in the gameplay offer intense focus and flow stats throughout your adventure into this new world.

You must reclaim lost abilities and decipher the sacred text of the ancients, which has remained secret for thousands of years. Heal the wounds of epic bosses, learn to coexist with exotic creatures, and use the power of meditation to purify the planet.

With Seemsless co-op, bring up to four friends to explore a beautiful and dangerous new world. Narcalid is built to offer a compelling solo-player experience and an adventure that can be enjoyed as a team. Each ambassador character in the game comes equipped with a unique multi-tool, from a wall-shattering projectile to a projectile-shunting shield.

Narcalid offers precise controls, challenging puzzles, tricky platforms, and epic bosses. Get ready to unlock all your chakras and conquer all the dangers and threats that Mother Narcalid holds for you. Tons of enemies and bosses are waiting for you in the depths of this unknown world.

Indie developer Lotus Mountain Creative is thrilled to announce that Narcalid is now available via Steam Early Access for $19.99, £16.75, €19.50 with a 25% launch discount.

“The focus for early access is polishing the experience of the first half of the game and validating that experience to inform the final act of the game. While the experience is ideally very close to the final game, there may be improvements based on feedback.

The current state contains about 2/3 of the final game map area to explore, along with bosses, mini-bosses, and story experiences.

Art and effects are close to final, but may be adjusted.

All 4 characters are playable, with all abilities available to unlock.

Face the Bison Stampede-a formidable challenge, the Slime Menace-a big gooey problem, and the Spider Queen-who lurks in the cavern shadows. Each boss will test your skills, reflexes, and quick thinking.”

“The Early Access version is expected to be a 7 hr experience, more or less when in multiplayer. The full version aims to be 20 hours in length. The full game aims to have 6 major biomes to explore, each with a unique boss and mini-boss experience (heal the boss or pass its challenge!). The Early Access version will have a reduced number of biomes to explore, as we focus on the polish and experience on the early portion of the game. We expect to have about 2/3rds of these biomes for players to explore, along with their corresponding bosses and mini-bosses. The lore in the game teaches about meditation. The final game aims to teach 3 forms of meditation with invitations to meditate up to 30 minutes in length! The Early Access version will have a limited amount of depth, offering shorter meditations.”
