Glassbreakers: Champions Of Moss is something the team has been excited to develop since the studio’s inception in 2015, but first the player base needed to grow large enough to support multiplayer games of this nature.
Polyarc announced that Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss will be the first Apple Arcade game built in the Unreal Engine to launch on Apple Vision Pro with cross-platform support across Apple, Meta, and PC (Steam) on November 13 for $19.99, with Meta pre-orders opening today.
Meta players receive a 20% off pre-order discount in addition to a cosmetic Founder Pack while Steam players will receive the discount at launch, as pre-ordering is unavailable. Apple Arcade members will find the game in the Arcade library on launch day. Meta players wanting to try the game ahead of launch are encouraged to sign up here for the Glassbreakers Preview Weekend taking place October 24-26.
“Our goal for bringing Glassbreakers to Apple Vision Pro is to give players the ability to join their friends in a fun, immersive fast-paced strategy game regardless of what headset they own,” said Jason Tranchida, lead engineer, Polyarc. “It took a lot of work to integrate Unreal Engine with visionOS, but doing the work not only allowed us to bring Glassbreakers to Apple Vision Pro but also paves the way for other game studios to bring their Unreal Engine games to the Apple platform.”
As accurate input and advanced controls are key components of fast-paced game design, the team worked with Apple to create a one-of-a-kind experience for players. Utilizing Apple Vision Pro’s hand tracking, eye gaze and custom gesture input, players’ interactions with the Champions, board, and set pieces are on par with players using controllers on Meta and Steam platforms.
“It’s such a fun experience to use nothing but your hands and eyes to interact with your Champions,” said Danny Bulla, co-founder, Polyarc. “You feel like a wizard at work, making multiple movements in quick succession without the need for drastic arm movements. It’s a completely new way to play games and I can’t wait for Apple Vision Pro players to experience this themselves in a couple of weeks.”
The team did a lot of work over the past year optimizing the Unreal Engine to make Glassbreakers playable on Apple Vision Pro at the quality level Polyarc is known for. This work not only improved the engine integration into visionOS but doubled the output of the hardware allowing the game’s graphics to pop with clarity by leveraging enhanced fidelity and framerate.
“We implemented a combination of techniques like multiview, multilayering and fixed foveated rendering to optimize the performance capabilities of Unreal Engine on Apple Vision Pro,” said Tranchida. “This work gave us the room to increase fidelity and framerate which levelled up pass through, eye gaze, text, and overall visuals to a much higher quality that really showcases the power of the platform.”
Polyarc is planning to post a fork of the Unreal Engine with all the enhancements and work that went into integrating the engine with visionOS so other studios can grab the code and benefit from the work they did.
As part of the launch, players who participated in Glassbreakers’ Early Access and Open Beta across Meta and Steam will receive the game and the Founder Pack—which includes an exclusive mask, banner and emblem—for free as a thank you for their support. Meta players will find the updated premium game experience in their library as a new App while Steam players will receive an update to the existing game in their library. Meta players who pre-orders will also receive the Founder Pack.
As a live service game, Polyarc is excited to hear feedback and work with players to make Glassbreakers the game they’re most excited to play when they put on their VR headset. Polyarc is listening and prioritizing its development schedule to reflect player input, and the team can’t wait to bring even more exciting content their way leading up to and with the release of Season 1. In the meantime, Polyarc devs would love to hear from and chat with players within the vibrant Glassbreakers community on Discord.
Glassbreakers: Champions Of Moss is coming to Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest 3 and PC (Steam) on November 13, 2025 at $19.99.
