Work together, or not, to survive. Under the threat of nuclear annihilation, you'll experience the largest, most dynamic world ever created in the legendary Fallout universe.

Reclamation Day, 2102.

Twenty-five years after the bombs fall, you and your fellow Vault Dwellers — chosen from the nation's best and brightest — emerge into post-nuclear America. Play solo or join together as you explore, quest, build, and triumph against the wasteland's greatest threats.

Don your dusters, sharpen your spurs and check your canteen’s filled: Fallout 76 heads to arid country in Burning Springs, a major free update for all players arriving December 2!

Featuring one of Fallout 76’s largest map expansions yet, Burning Springs opens the path for players to venture into post-nuclear Ohio. Trek through the area’s perilous gulches, encounter new characters and quests and run Bounty Hunting missions for The Ghoul, making his way to Burning Springs from the Fallout television series!

Welcome to the blazing Buckeye State

Expanding the boundaries of Fallout 76’s massive Appalachia region, players will explore the charred remains of Ohio, conflagrated during the Great War into a place now called Burning Springs.

“Ohio is a desert wasteland now,” lays out Creative Director Jonathan Rush. "Burning Springs wasn’t ever really explored in the past Fallout games, so this is all new territory for us.” As players discover more of Burning Springs, they will also learn of the area’s history and how it fits into Fallout’s greater post-nuclear world.

Of course, it’s not just sightseeing that awaits you. Beyond the scorching temperatures and barren wastes, Burning Springs teems with threats both familiar to fans of the franchise and some entirely new, be it a vicious local breed of Deathclaw or the Rust King, a Super Mutant warlord ruling the area with an iron fist (and taste for arena combat.)

Hunt Bounties after a rendezvous with The Ghoul

The desolated deserts of Burning Springs attract ample ne’er-do-wells to the area, presenting an exciting opportunity to get into the lucrative business of Bounty Hunting! This update introduces Bounty Hunting missions to Fallout 76, allowing players to join up on a series of contracts hunting down Appalachia’s most wanted.

Stumbling into Burning Springs to get you started is none other than The Ghoul, the equally mysterious and deadly gunslinger from the Fallout television series! (Voiced by Walton Goggins, himself!) Adventurers will cross paths with The Ghoul in Highway Town, a bustling community hub located in the heart of Burning Springs.

Should they have the guts (and trigger finger) for a Bounty Hunting mission, players can take a few wanted grunts off The Ghoul’s hands and keep the rewards for themselves – heck, The Ghoul may even reward your aptitude with new bounties to track!

“It’s a really fun system; Bounty Hunting’s gonna take them all over Burning Springs,” says Rush, adding that new players coming out of Vault 76 will also get a chance to meet The Ghoul and learn of Burning Springs. “He will be standing outside, ready to greet dwellers fresh out of the Vault...and probably insult them."

New Places, Familiar Faces

Whether you’re a seasoned dweller, new to Fallout 76’s Appalachia or even the Fallout franchise itself, there’s something for everyone coming soon in the Burning Springs update.

“When the first Season of the Fallout television series launched, we saw a ton of newcomers in Appalachia,” explains Rush. “If you’re jumping into Fallout 76 for the first time, especially with Season Two, you’re in for a good time. There’s never been a better time to adventure with your friends in the wasteland.”

“All the characters, the environments, they model everything in the show after what we model in the game,” adds Production Director Bill LaCoste. “You're getting that same experience with character development, combat and humor - the whole vibe of Fallout is replicated in both the show and the games.”

Key Features:
