Paramount and Activision announced that Peter Berg is set to write, direct, and produce the Call of Duty live-action feature film with his team.
Taylor Sheridan will also write and produce, while David Glasser is going to produce.
In addition to being longtime friends, Berg and Sheridan’s prior collaborations include Hell or High Water, which received four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Screenplay, and Wind River.
Peter Berg is an acclaimed director, producer, writer, and actor recognized for his bold, cinematic storytelling. As founder of Film 44, Film 47, and co-founder of Brighton Maintenance, Berg created and executive produced the Emmy-nominated series Friday Night Lights and directed acclaimed feature films Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day. Under his first-look deal with Netflix, Berg directed global #1 series Painkiller and American Primeval. He wrote, directed and produced The Mosquito Bowl, an epic World War II drama for Netflix based on Buzz Bissinger’s bestselling book, which recently wrapped production, and is executive producing a Friday Night Lights reboot. Through Film 47, Berg continues to helm major commercial campaigns. Berg is represented by WME, David Matlof and ID.
Taylor Sheridan is an Academy Award-nominated screenwriter, Emmy-nominated producer and the creator, writer, director and executive producer of multiple record-breaking Paramount Network series including YELLOWSTONE, MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN, TULSA KING, 1883, 1923, LIONESS and LANDMAN. Sheridan currently has numerous projects in various stages of development and production. Among them is F.A.S.T., an original thriller set for release with Warner Bros. in April 2027. His next show, THE MADISON, starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, and Matthew J Fox, is currently in production. Also recently announced was THE DUTTON RANCH, a YELLOWSTONE spinoff starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser; the series is projected for release in 2026 with Sheridan to executive produce. Sheridan, alongside Blake Shelton and Keith Urban, also executive produced THE ROAD for CBS, a music competition series that premiered in October 2025. Sheridan owns and operates two Texas ranches: the iconic Four Sixes (6666) Ranch and Bosque Ranch.
