In addition to bringing the long-running story arc that began with A Realm Reborn to its conclusion, Endwalker will mark a new beginning for the MMO, setting the stage for new adventures that longtime fans and new players can enjoy together. The new expansion will bring an abundance of new features, including multiple new jobs, an increased level cap, vast new areas, updates to the battle system, a variety of new challenges to overcome, as well as crafter and gatherer content.

The Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail expansion brings with it a wealth of new content. Expect new story, multiple new jobs, sprawling new areas to explore, new allied tribes, new dungeons, new side quests, new Hunts, new Fates, new Treasure Hunts and much more.

The age of adventure has begun.

Square Enix shared the first details on Final Fantasy XIV Online Patch 7.4: ‘Into the Mist’ and a release date of December 16, 2025.

The Patch 7.4x series includes a number of new activities and updates for players to undertake, including new Main Scenario Quests, dungeon, trial, Arcadion raid series tier, Variant & Criterion Dungeon alongside additions to the Duty Support system, and updates to PvP, Gold Saucer, Occult Crescent, a new star for Cosmic Exploration and more.

Patch 7.4 brings a wealth of new updates and additions, including:

• New Main Scenario Quests　
• New Dungeon – Mistwake　
• New Trial – Hell on Rails - Includes both Normal and Extreme modes
• New Raid Tier – The Arcadion: Heavyweight – includes both Normal and Savage modes
  • Note: Savage difficulty will be released on Tuesday 6th January 2026
• New Variant Dungeon – Merchant’s Tale – New difficulty levels have been added and updates made to playstyle possibilities
• New Unreal Trial – Tsukuyomi's Pain (Unreal): Take on Tsukuyomi, at level 100　
• Duty Support Additions – Support for the Dzemael Darkhold and Aurum Vale will be added
• Occult Crescent Update – 3 new Phantom Jobs (Mystic Knight, Dancer and Gladiator) and additional accessories with set bonuses included
• Phantom Weapon Updates
• Cosmic Exploration – New Planet – Oizys (Patch 7.41) – The latest planet for crafters and gatherers to explore, as well as new rewards and system updates
• Further Cosmic Tool Enhancement
• Glamour System Updates - Removal of level/class/job-restrictions on gear for glamour purposes, allowing players to glamour the appearance of gear regardless of previous role, class, and job restrictions.

• PvP Updates – The start of PvP Series 10, existing action adjustments, and the addition of a new Frontline map added: Worqor Chirteh
• Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures
• Miscellaneous Updates – Gold Saucer updates, New UI colour themes (Clear White, Clear Green), Strategy Panel UI, new “Quick Panel” UI, and more!

Information on ticket sales for Final Fantasy XIVFan Festival 2026 in Anaheim, CA was also announced earlier this week. Between now through Sunday, 2ndNovember 2025 at 11:59 p.m. PST, Final Fantasy XIV players with active subscriptions who possess a North American Square Enix account can register for a chance to receive purchase priority ahead of general sales. After the application form closes, a drawing will be held and players who are selected will be contacted starting Monday, 10th November 2025 to purchase tickets through Wednesday, 12th November 2025. Any remaining tickets after the player-exclusive purchase period ends will be sold during the general sales period.

The expanded Free Trial now includes all content from A Realm Reborn and the Heavensward expansion, as well as an additional playable race (Au Ra), and three additional playable jobs (Dark Knight, Astrologian, and Machinist). Free Trial players can enjoy hundreds of hours of award-winning gameplay and story experiences equivalent to two full Final Fantasy titles, without limit on playtime.
