Call to Arms - Gates of Hell: Ostfront features the Eastern Front and its “Great Patriotic War” fought between the USSR and Germany. This RTS will take you from June 1941 until the end of the war in May 1945.
Call to Arms - Gates of Hell: Ostfront offers a choice of game modes including Singleplayer, dynamic campaign, PvE, PvP and co-op.
With its instantly switchable views, there’s something for every type of player. First person gunner views for all vehicles, third person views for vehicles and infantry, classic top-down direct control of a single unit or classic RTS top-down; they are all available and instantly switchable.
Conquest (dynamic campaign) mode offers singleplayer and co-op modes to play with your friends. Both modes allow you to compose your own army group, research new units and strategically advance in different paths to dominate the battlefield. The dynamic campaign can range from short to unlimited campaign lengths.
PvP/PvE offers a wide variety of maps from 1v1 to 4v4, and the use of “Doctrines”. These allow you to choose your own special units that fit your individual playstyle. The stage of the war (Early/Mid/Late) can be selected, to experience the evolution of equipment and vehicles as the conflict progressed.
Single player campaigns take place at historical locations, painstakingly recreated and immersive as hell.
Digitalmindsoft and Barbed Wire Studios are thrilled to announce a major milestone in the history of Call to Arms: Gates of Hell: the title has now surpassed one million copies sold, with DLC sales soaring even higher. This achievement marks a monumental moment for the developers—made possible only through the dedication, passion, and continued support of the global Gates of Hell community.
To celebrate, the team is opening the next chapter of the franchise with the reveal of its most ambitious expansion to date: Call to Arms: Gates of Hell – Finest Hour.
From the early war “Blitzkrieg” in France to the final fights in Germany, this DLC offers the Commonwealth faction on the Western front. Re- live the British Empire’s Finest Hour in spectacular historical detail, in both multiplayer and singleplayer!
It features English, Scottish, Canadian and Polish forces, all with their own specific uniforms, equipment, voice acting and special perks.
A massive amount of multiplayer and singleplayer content makes this our largest DLC to date.
Singleplayer
Two singleplayer campaigns are included, each with a new level of cinematics, gameplay and detail.
The Commonwealth campaign consists of 7 scripted missions and 3 skirmishes, portraying the British Expeditionary Force in the first desperate days of “Fall Gelb” in the West, followed by the action on D-Day capturing Pegasus bridge and the offensive action around Caen. This is followed by action - packed missions for Operation Market Garden and the paradrops in Germany - you will be there from the first to the last day of the war on the Western front!
The German campaign consists of 5 scripted missions and 1 skirmish. This campaign depicts what would later be called “Blitzkrieg”; starting with the first chaotic but victorious days in France, fighting and surrounding the French and British armies as Rommel’s 7th Panzer (“ghost”) division, followed by missions later in the war defending the Atlantikwall and several counterattacks in Normandy and during Operation Market Garden. The grim struggle for control of the Scheldt estuary rounds out the war in the German campaign.
Multiplayer
“Finest Hour” also introduces the Commonwealth in early, mid and late war periods, with 4 doctrines for each period and 20 brand new Western front MP maps, plus all of the new weapons, vehicles and tanks.
Conquest
For conquest, 25 Western front maps are included. These use a new and unique set of assets, created to give you a good impression of the battlefields in the Netherlands, Flanders, Northern France and elsewhere.
The German conquest arsenal has been expanded for this DLC as well, to complement the equipment you would expect to find on any early war battlefield where these nations went head to head.
Visuals
Finest Hour introduces a completely new set of visuals with hundreds of highly detailed environment models; we’ve even added bagpipes!
There is added glossiness to the textures for higher fidelity, and we've manufactured over a thousand environmental assets, reinforcing the feel of authenticity for the locations and countries you fight in.
