'Battlefield 6' Kicks Off Season 1 - California Resistance Today, Free Trial Planned For Later This Month - Trailer

by Rainier on Nov. 18, 2025 @ 3:51 p.m. PST

Battlefield 6 is the next installment in the long-running Battlefield franchise, bringing a new all-out warfare experience.

In Battlefield 6, the series’ incredible blend of visceral combat, epic warfare, and player freedom returns. Blow through walls and bring down buildings for a tactical advantage or take to the skies in white-knuckle dogfights. Take part in a war filled with tanks, fighter jets, and sweeping combat at a grand scale but remember: the deadliest weapon is your squad.

Witness the vicious path of destruction carved by Pax Armata, the world’s leading private military company. PAX pursues the destruction of NATO and its allies, stopping at nothing to uphold their motto: “Our Protection, Your Peace.” Fight in high-intensity infantry combat. Demolish your environment for a strategic advantage. In a war of tanks, fighter jets, and massive combat arsenals, your squad is the deadliest weapon.

The year is 2027. The world is on the edge of chaos. After a high-profile assassination shocks the world, major European countries have left NATO, while the US and its allies grapple with the fallout. A massive private military corporation unafraid to cross lines, with deep pockets and the latest tech, looks to fill the power vacuum. This army is PAX ARMATA. What’s left of NATO is in tatters, wounded and battered. This is the world of Battlefield 6.

Battlefield 6 introduces a host of new features, including the all-new Kinesthetic Combat System, which brings enhancements to movement and gunplay. This gives players an unprecedented level of mobility, offering new tactical options such as Drag and Revive to pull teammates out of danger and back from the brink, and mounting weapons on walls to reduce recoil.

The iconic class system returns better than ever, with Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer, empowering players to define their role on the battlefield. The four roles have been enhanced, designed to empower players to push their team towards victory, each with class-specific gadgets, signature weapons and dedicated training. Destruction also returns, but enhanced to offer an unparalleled level of freedom, letting players transform the combat zone, to create new paths, flank enemies and dominate the battle.

Lock & load for the ultimate all-out warfare experience.

Battlefield Studios launched brand new seasonal content for Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC, with the release of Season 1 - California Resistance. The team also revealed that later this month, players can jump into Battlefield 6 via a free trial.  From November 25 to December 2, a Free Trial experience of Battlefield 6 with select maps and modes will be available, featuring 5 modes and 3 maps. This is your chance to experience the high octane multiplayer warfare of Battlefield 6 for an entire week for free.

With today’s California Resistance update, Battlefield 6 owners will fight in an idyllic neighborhood set in Southern California with a brand new map called Eastwood. From golf courses to luxury villas, this affluent neighborhood is now a warzone, as players bring high-intensity action to this previously tranquil landscape.

Players can also jump into a new fast-paced mode called Sabotage where they must destroy as many sites as possible before the round ends. Sabotage will be available on several maps during its limited-time run, including the new Season 1 maps Eastwood and Blackwell Fields.

Battlefield REDSEC also expands its free-to-play offerings with brand new content launching today. Gauntlet receives a new mission, while Fort Lyndon will have SCIFs (Prepper Stashes) to crack open in Battle Royale.

For those mastering Portal, the California Resistance update has also transformed this toolset into a full-fledged sandbox, a completely blank canvas, which gives creators more freedom than ever to craft and customize unforgettable experiences.

Finally, the update brings with it the California Resistance Limited Time Event, which will be available for the duration of the California Resistance phase, across both Battlefield 6 and  Free-to-Play REDSEC. This event will feature a Bonus Path, which can be completed concurrently alongside the Season 1 Battle Pass.

Full details about the California Resistance update can be found on the following blog post here. The final phase of Season 1 begins on December 9 with Winter Offensive, bringing special seasonal themed content to the game.
