Inspired by 7,000 years of Mesopotamian history, the game follows Huda’s desperate search for answers about her father’s two-decade disappearance—unfolding through striking 2D and 360° imagery that caters to both high-end and more modest PC setups.
My Father Lied has been crafted in such a way to deliver an experience meant to immerse and unsettle. Balancing the heartbreak of a missing parent with the revelation of ancient lore, the game delivers narrative depth and puzzle complexity for fans of slow-burn storytelling and rich world-building alike.
My Father Lied is filled with artifacts from where the first stories were written. This will bring our culture and heritage into the spotlight, portraying Iraq in a new perspective, showing both ancient, and modern artifacts from our country, as well the rich history from where history started.
My Father Lied promises to weave emotional storytelling with hidden secrets that will keep players enthralled at every turn.
“I fell in love with these ancient myths and felt compelled to bring them to life,” says creator Ahmed Alameen. “With 360° visuals, optional ‘mighty puzzles’, and an emotional core story, we hope players will uncover secrets that feel both timeless and deeply personal.”
A free My Father Lied demo is available on Steam, inviting players to unravel an ancient enigma right now, while the newly released official trailer offers an alluring first glimpse into the game’s haunting atmosphere.
Independent studio Lunar Games is currently running a kickstarter campaign, looking to raise $6,891.
With 7 more days to go, backers can support the project and enjoy exclusive rewards including the chance to record their own in-game voice cameo, own a replica of the Royal Game of Ur, or even become a beta tester. If the campaign reaches its final stretch goal, the DLC “My Father Promised” will be developed—expanding Huda’s story with new puzzles and deeper mysteries, guided by the community’s passion and support.
