'Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor' Leaving Early Access, Gets September Release Date - Trailer

by Rainier on April 10, 2025 @ 9:33 a.m. PDT

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is a single player auto-shooter and survivor-like title set in the world of Deep Rock Galactic.

Wield the full arsenal of Deep Rock Galactic, take on hordes of lethal aliens, mine riches, and unlock powerful upgrades. It's one dwarf against all of Planet Hoxxes!

Kill bugs, upgrade your gear, and delve ever deeper into the lethal caves of Hoxxes. Collect and assemble a devastating array of guns, unleash hell upon wave after wave of alien monsters in fast and frenetic combat, and tunnel your way to collect precious riches from deep within the cave walls. Each mission is unique, using procedural cave generation and enemy waves, just as you've come to know from Deep Rock Galactic.

Delve deep, Miner! Once the Drop Pod releases you into the oppressive darkness, you are on your own. Complete the mission objectives set forth by the Company, and make it back to the Drop Pod in time to try your luck at even more deadly and lucrative encounters. Choose your route though a path of harder and harder missions while you grow ever stronger, survive all the way to the very end of your assignment, and finally get extracted alongside your hefty sack of loot.

The universe of Deep Rock Galactic is loved by millions of players, and now you can experience it in a whole new single-player-focused way! Play each mission from a top-down perspective, navigating the caves of Hoxxes as you've never seen them before. Greybeard Deep Rock veterans will recognize much from Deep Rock Galactic, and if you are a recently joined Greenbeard: Welcome! We are thrilled to have you on board. You will like it here. Management demands it.

Developer Funday Games and published Ghost Ship Publishing announce that Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor will be leaving Steam Early Access and launching into v1.0 on September 17th.

After launching into Early Access on February 14th last year, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor quickly became one of 2024’s best-selling games on Steam. Since then, the game has seen four major content updates, and a plethora of minor updates, including:

  • Salt Pits, a new biome where players can weaponise the environment
  • Azure Weald, a new biome filled to the brim with magical crystals of mysterious origin
  • Dreadnought Twins, a new boss type, as well as a rework of the Dreadnought boss
  • Mastery system that encourages players to, well, master different weapons and biomes
  • Mutators, that serve as an added challenge and variation across rotated daily and weekly dives
  • Anomaly Dives, which change the rules of the game and bring a greater challenge
  • Multiple new enemy units, from the elusive Huuli Hoarders to Glyphid Wardens to pesky Mini Exploders
  • Dozens of overclocks and artifacts, as well as a wide number of QoL changes, optimisation, and gameplay improvements
“After a year of hard work, we are excited to finally bring a fully realised Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor to players around the world,” said Funday Games producer, Jacob Laurits Besenbacher Kjeldsen. “Our dedicated community has been instrumental in making this happen, helping us shape the game it is today and being involved in activities such as our Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Ultimate Challenge Invitational. It’s been a fantastic journey and we can’t wait to show you what we have cooked up for the 1.0 launch. ”

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is coming to PC (Steam) on September 17, 2025.
