'Endzone 2' Early Access Update Adds More Environmental Dangers, New Buildings And More - Trailer

by Rainier on April 30, 2025 @ 11:11 a.m. PDT

Endzone 2 is a survival colony builder where players must confront an unforgiving environment, discover and repopulate habitable grounds and survive in order to protect the last remnants of humanity.

Endzone 2 combines elements of survival and city building/colony sims in order to create a new and unique twist on these familiar genres. Players are able to freely choose their starting point and venture into a variety of different locations that are hiding valuable and unique resources and loot. They will also be able to create and manage multiple settlements and fight against the unforgiving and ever-changing environment.

When players aren’t exploring, they’ll need to build, develop and expand their settlements and secure economic progress by researching buildings, and technologies, and refining resources to create optimized production lines in order to keep up with the size of their growing community. Players will also be tasked with establishing trade routes between habitable grounds and traders.

Gentlymad Studios strives to bring the supportive community from Endzone - A World Apart over to Endzone 2 in order to develop the sequel in line with player expectations. Players familiar with Endzone - A World Apart can now enjoy the challenge of creating and managing multiple settlements and using vehicles to establish trade routes, barter with traders and go on expeditions. Additionally, Endzone 2 includes a complete overhaul of the rendering system bringing players a more detailed and visually appealing environment along with new animations to immerse players like never before.

Gentlymad Studios and Assemble Entertainment are pleased to convey that as Endzone 2 nears completion for its v1.0 PC Steam release in 2025 as another major Early Access update (Steam / GOG) ensures it will become a genre-defining epic upon release.

In this multi-layered  strategy game, players explore, colonize, and manage multiple settlements across a deadly, ever-changing world where radiation, resource scarcity, and natural disasters constantly test your planning and resilience.

This latest update brings the game closer to its roots - drawing inspiration from its predecessor Endzone – A World Apart - with a renewed focus on radiation management, settler health, and meaningful survival decisions.

  • Radiation Reimagined: Strategic building placement and new decontamination tools like the Decontaminator and Water-tower are essential for survival.
  • Sickness and Hospitals: Outbreaks now directly impact settlers, who can recover naturally or through player-managed medical care.
  • Sandstorms with Bite: Storms now damage buildings directly, requiring repair crews and resource management to keep settlements running.
  • Morale vs. Health: Boost confidence at your own risk with new buildings like the Bar and Coffee Shop, fueled by craftable Beer and Weed.
  • Session Goals & Monuments: Take on epic challenges with new session objectives and earn powerful monument buildings that supercharge your late-game strategy.

A New Era of Radiation

Radiation has evolved into a full survival mechanic. You’ll now need to:

  • Monitor zone-based radiation with a new overlay
  • Watch out for irradiated food and water
  • Build Decontaminators and upgraded storage buildings to fight back
  • Hope for cleansing rain – it now removes radiation naturally
  • This rework adds new complexity, new visuals, and new threats.

This update adds over 10 new buildings, including:

  • Hospital – Treat critically ill settlers
  • Brewery & Bar – Produce and serve beer to boost happiness
  • Coffee Shop – Distribute joints to ease settler stress
  • Beacon – A late-game monument to your survival mastery
  • Decorative Statues – Unlockable through new missions
  • Small Town Center, new street types, adult-only shelter, and more
