'World Of Warships' The Longest Night of Museums Event Introduces Naval Museum Atlas, New PvE Game Mode And Operation Dynamo Event Pass

by Rainier on May 15, 2025 @ 10:42 a.m. PDT

World Of Warships is a free-to-play naval action MMO based on sea battles of the 20th century that complete the "World of" war trilogy.

Keeping with the best traditions of the series, World of Warships will offer a straightforward interface, easy-to-use controls, and a common economic system that will allow players to distribute resources between the three games for the ultimate progress in each of them.

The large assortment of available warships will give various tactical opportunities, as all the machines have a unique combination of firepower, speed, armor, and endurance.

Various naval maps with changing weather conditions will enrich the gameplay, and the realistic graphics will transport players into the epic battles that changed the course of human history.

World of Warships publisher/developer Wargaming is set to host its 5th annual Longest Night of Museums livestream event on May 18th, commemorating the evolution of iconic warships during World War II.

This year’s event also introduces the Naval Museum Atlas, a brand-new free discovery tool that rewards players for visiting museums. Alongside, May welcomes a boatload of content to the game, including a new action-packed game mode, Perilous Route, the arrival of Operation Dynamo to mark its 85th anniversary, a strategic event, and much more.

The Longest Night of Museums Returns For Its 5th Anniversary

Returning for its fifth year, World of Warships is set to host its annual Longest Night of Museums on May 18th, with a focus on the different types of warships involved in World War II, and their evolution during the war. Spotlighting museums from around the world that are home to some of history’s most legendary vessels, the stream will take a look at the development of various warships. This includes aircraft carriers with the USS Intrepid, exploring how roles changed for battleships with a trip to the USS Wisconsin, and how submarines have helped shape naval warfare with the USS Cod.

To celebrate five years of Longest Night at the Museums, this year’s event will also see the participation of the popular YouTube channel History Hit, where world-renowned historian Dan Snow will face off against AI in a debate on ship evolutions.

“We have previously partnered with World of Warships and are proud to support an event that showcases the remarkable work of museums dedicated to preserving the stories of these iconic vessels,” said Dan Snow of History Hit. ”As passionate advocates of history, we believe events like the Longest Night of Museums are invaluable opportunities to inspire and engage new generations with our shared maritime heritage.”

Rewarding way to discover museums: The Naval Museum Atlas

Also launching during this year’s event is the Naval Museum Atlas - a new digital platform designed to help players and history enthusiasts discover naval museums around the world. Presented as an interactive map, with 9 naval museums and historical institutions from all over the world at launch, soon to be joined by much more, the Atlas provides practical information to support real-world visits and highlights institutions dedicated to preserving maritime heritage. As the database continues to grow, upcoming features will include exclusive museum perks via World of Warships’ Captain’s Club and special in-game bonus codes available on-site at participating museums

World of Warships Brings Operation Dynamo and New Dangers to the High Seas

To commemorate 85 years since 300,000 soldiers were evacuated from Dunkirk, Operation Dynamo comes to World of Warships in full force with a new Event Pass. Across two progression lines, players can unlock Containers, the “Monochrome” Enemy Destruction Effect, permanent camouflages, and much more. A new limited-time Port activity also arrives in the form of a strategic event, as a player-versus-everyone activity where players use cards representing the Little Ships of Dunkirk to overcome challenges and opponents. By doing this, players will earn Operation Dynamo Containers, a special “Braving the Fire Flag” and Tier VI British destroyer Gallant along the way.

May brings additional challenges to the seven seas with the arrival of Perilous Route, a new limited-time game mode that sees players escorting a damaged Command Ship to its destination whilst tackling waves of deadly enemy ships. During the journey, the Command Ship will need to make two stops to repair itself from the barrage of attacks, in which a randomised task must be completed to continue. Using any Tier VIII to IX ships, with the exception of submarines, players will have to use everything in their arsenal to finish the ship’s journey and emerge victorious.

World of Warships rounds out its May update with crossover content as Azur Lane makes another splash with Wave 7 of new content, bringing the popular sidescrolling naval warfare game to World of Warships once again. Closing out the update, Soviet Submarines depart from Early Access, construction of Tier IX German Premium heavy cruiser Blücher 1939 in the Dockyard continues, and players can dive into new Ranked Battles and Brawls.
