Guild Wars 2 redefines massively multiplayer online roleplaying games with visceral, action-oriented combat; a gorgeous, living world full of constantly evolving dynamic events; customizable personal storylines that are unique to each player; intense Player vs. Player combat between small teams or massive armies; and most importantly, a shared online world where players work together as allies instead of as rivals — all with no monthly subscription fee.
The dragon cycle that has sustained and blighted Tyria for ages is collapsing. Mortal hearts and choices will define this moment in history—and echo in the future forever.
Over two centuries ago, the Empire of the Dragon severed all bonds with central Tyria and Elona. Cantha has its own history of turmoil and triumph, reflected in ancient landmarks, enduring artistry, and modern life.
The final chapter of Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds quarterly expansion content launches Tuesday, June 3 and brings the conflict with the titans of Janthir to a denouement. A variety of additions to game modes, new rewards, and a new map and story will let players experience the robust and action-packed finale by discovering the ancient secrets at the center of the primordial egress on Tyria’s frontiers.
The crumbling city of Bava Nisos, once a monument to mursaat glory, lies twisted under 300 years of magic. The final descent to the heart of this new explorable zone will entail a full map-wide meta event that leads players to the Mists Gate, the locus of titan invasion in Janthir. To go along with this new content, a new boss, the titan Ura, will be added to the Convergence game mode built for groups of up to 50 players.
Bundled with these new challenges will be Kinfall, a new fractal that will see players take the role of lowland Kodan experiencing events from their cultural past as they uncover the whispers of the elder dragon Jormag for the first time, an event that proved prelude to their migration from northern Tyria to the Janthir Wilds.
Homesteads will also receive updates: the decoration limit will be doubled from 1,000 to 2,000 objects, letting players pack more density into their custom living quarters, and the Homestead mastery will increase to 500, providing access to new crafted decorations. A host of new rewards, including a legendary backpack and glider, new weapon sets, new relics, and a refresh of offerings in the Wizards Vault round out the conclusion of the 2024 expansion cycle.
Absolution is free for all players who purchased Janthir Wilds.
