A boy and girl return to their lost hometown in search of truth and to bring back what they hold dear.

The town of Hallfein once rested on the border between three provinces, prospering thanks to mining and trade.
However, a mysterious tragedy struck the peaceful town, and most of its residents completely vanished.
Hallfein became a restricted area, and access was forbidden to all except investigators from the capital.

Years passed, and the restrictions were eventually lifted, after which plans to restore the town were put together. Taking this opportunity, a young man and woman follow their hearts and return to Hallfein after being forced to leave it so long ago; the young woman wanting to restore the shop previously run by her missing grandfather, and the young man hoping to learn more about the items left to him by his departed father. They both also seek to learn why the town's residents vanished that day.

The two will meet and set out on a journey in search of the truth together. However, neither could imagine just what would await them on that journey.

A first look video with commentary from the developers was released where players can meet the new and familiar characters from this magical adventure while getting a first glimpse at the game system and the world they will explore.

Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian takes players on a mysterious and cozy adventure alongside new protagonists Rias Eidreise, an adventurer with a talent for alchemy, and Slade Clauslyter, a young man capable of opening entrances to dimensional paths leading to alternate dimensions. These two heroes will join forces in an attempt to discover the reason for the disappearance of the inhabitants of Hallfein, while also trying to follow in the footsteps of their loved ones and restore their hometown. During their journey, they will meet various characters who will help them, including familiar faces from the Atelier series such as Sophie Nuenmuller, Razeluxe Meitzen, Totori Helmold, and Wilbell Voll-Ersleid.

Set in the universe of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, this new Atelier title will transport players to the continent of Lantarna, where they can explore, gather ingredients for synthesis and discover every secret corner, day or night, rain or shine. Players will also have the opportunity to explore multi-level dungeons, known as “Dimensional Paths”, where the structure will change randomly with each visit, allowing players to gather different ingredients and challenge new enemies depending on the difficulty level chosen.

Fights in Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian will blend strategy with turn-based combat for strategic timeline command battles where players can form a team of six characters (three in the front line and three in the back). By using action points and equipped items to their advantage, users will be able to inflict damage and influence the timeline of characters’ turns, triggering consecutive turns for allies and activating powerful unite attacks.

Using ingredients gathered during exploration or combat, Rias will be able to synthesis various items during a process called “Gift Color Synthesis”. During this synthesis process, players will have to connect the “Gift Colors” of the ingredients together to create new items. They will also be able to assign traits or change recipes depending on the ingredients used. When certain characters come to lend Rias a hand, this will further strengthen the item created.

In addition to the traditional Atelier gameplay system alternating between exploration, combat and synthesis, users will be able to sell items via Rias’ shop while helping develop the town. By selling synthesised items, players will earn money they can invest in the development of Hallfein, thus unlocking new recipes and progressing through the main story.

Key Features:

• Field: Like Atelier Resleriana, this adventure takes place in the continent of Lantarna. You can take control of the characters to explore the fields firsthand. Differences between day and night and changes with the weather that weren't able to be fully included in Atelier Resleriana can now be enjoyed during your adventure.
• Combat: This game inherits the tactical timeline battle system from Atelier Resleriana. Up to three party members can be placed on both the front and back rows. Enjoy fighting as one united force, and utilize new elements such as Multi-actions, Item Mix, and Link Attacks to add even more excitement to battles.
• Synthesis: The synthesis in this came is called "Gift Color Synthesis," and involves linking the different colors that ingredients possess in order to create items. Items can be strengthened even further by synthesizing along with your allies. Up to three additional ingredients can also be added in order to pass along traits, allowing for simple yet intricate synthesis!
• Town Development & Shop Management: You can sell the items you've synthesized in your shop in order to develop the town! Earn money by selling a variety of items, and use that money in order to invest in the town's development. As the town develops, you'll obtain new synthesis recipes and unlock new parts of the main story.
