Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail brings an abundance of fresh content, including an increased level cap, multiple new jobs, sprawling new areas, new allied tribes, new dungeons, and new core battle content such as FATEs, Hunts, Treasure Hunts, and sidequests, and much more.

Eorzea, an awe-inspiring land of endless possibilities. Whether you choose to battle fierce creatures in the wilderness, fashion the ultimate blade in the forge, or swap tall tales in the local tavern, the history of Final Fantasy XIV will be shaped by your actions. Choose from an exotic variety of races, looks and classes to fashion your hero. Change classes simply by equipping a different weapon or tool and tackle an ever-changing assortment of level quests alone or with friends.

In addition to bringing the long-running story arc that began with A Realm Reborn to its conclusion, Endwalker will mark a new beginning for the MMO, setting the stage for new adventures that longtime fans and new players can enjoy together. The new expansion will bring an abundance of new features, including multiple new jobs, an increased level cap, vast new areas, updates to the battle system, a variety of new challenges to overcome, as well as crafter and gatherer content.

Square Enix revealed the next major patch for Final Fantasy XIV Online as part of the latest Letter from the Producer LIVE broadcast. Patch 7.3: “The Promise of Tomorrow” was revealed alongside an Early August 2025 release.

During the broadcast, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida revealed the first details of planned updates for the Patch 7.3 series, including new main scenario quests, the next chapter of the Echoes of Vana'diel alliance raid series, a brand-new Deep Dungeon, the first update to the gathering and crafting focused Cosmic Exploration, and much more.

Patch 7.3 brings a wealth of new updates and additions, alongside further updates to come in the 7.3x series including:

  • New Main Scenario Quests
  • New Alliance Raid  Echoes of Vana'diel, Part 2: San d'Oria: The Second Walk
  • New Dungeon – The Meso Terminal
  • New Trial – Includes both Normal and Extreme modes
  • New Deep Dungeon – Pilgrim’s Traverse
  • New Unreal Trial – The Wreath of Snakes (Unreal): Take on Seiryu, one of the Four Lords, at level 100
  • Cosmic Exploration: New Planet – Phaenna – A new planet for intrepid crafters and gatherers to explore, as well as additional updates and changes
  • Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures
  • New Allied Society Quests – Yok Huy
  • New Treasure Dungeon – Vault Oneiron
  • Duty Support Additions – Support for the Cutter’s Cry will be added
  • PvP Updates – The start of PvP Series 9, existing action adjustments, new ranked tiers and the addition of a new Crystalline Conflict arena: the Bayside Battleground
  • Weapon Enhancements Quests – Phantom Weapons

Final Fantasy XIV: Chronicles of Light (Novel), Volume II, the second collection of short stories expanding upon the rich lore of Final Fantasy XIV Online is now available for pre-order. This hardcover, foil-stamped volume presents thirty stories originally published on the official Final Fantasy XIV website. Adding to the expanded lore of ShadowbringersEndwalker, and Dawntrail, these stories were included in the Tales from the Shadows, Tales from the Twilight, Tales from the Dawn, and Tales under the New Moon side stories. Each chapter is accompanied by an illustration created specifically for this book by acclaimed Final Fantasy artist Toshiyuki Itahana.

Final Fantasy XIV: Chronicles of Light (Novel), Volume II is scheduled for physical print release in December 2025 and is now available for pre-order at the Square Enix Store with pre-orders at other major booksellers beginning from 21st June. The digital eBook edition will release on 7th October 2025.

Volume 2 of The Ultimate Final Fantasy XIV Cookbook, the highly anticipated second official cookbook featuring another journey into the culinary delights centered around critically acclaimed expansions ShadowbringersEndwalker, and Dawntrail is now available for pre-order on the Square Enix Store. Releasing 21stOctober, the 192-page cookbook includes stunning photography and easy to follow cooking instructions, allowing readers to be delighted as they create cuisine from the world of Final Fantasy XIV. Dishes in this volume include Alpine Breakfast, Tacos de Carne Asada, the Pudding of Perseverance & Prominence and many more. The Ultimate Final Fantasy XIV Cookbook Volume 2: The Culinarian’s Journey from Shadow to Shore is available to pre-order now at the Square Enix Store and select retailers.

The expanded Free Trial now includes all content from A Realm Reborn and the Heavensward expansion, as well as an additional playable race (Au Ra), and three additional playable jobs (Dark Knight, Astrologian, and Machinist). Free Trial players can enjoy hundreds of hours of award-winning gameplay and story experiences equivalent to two full Final Fantasy titles, without limit on playtime.
