FragPunk is a radical 5v5 hero shooter set in a vibrant futuristic universe. FragPunk introduces a gameplay modifier card system that offers fast-paced gunfights with infinite possibilities. NetEase Games and Bad Guitar Studio have unveiled full details for Season 2: Rising Tempest for FragPunk.

The major update will launch on June 26, 2025, introducing a new lancer,  two strategic maps, evolved modes and radical gameplay mechanics updates. 

New Lancer: Hurricane

Meet Hurricane in the battlefield! Hurricane is Acme's first polar bear Lancer. Though he comes from a loving family, he was never satisfied with his life; he always harbored a deep longing to help others. He got his chance during an intense glunite storm, successfully rescuing fellow polar bears from disaster. It was this storm that turned him into a Lancer, and now, Hurricane embraces going on adventures that none of his people have experienced.

2 New Maps Forged in Chaos  

The new season brings 2 brand new battlefields tailored to flagship modes amplify the chaos:  

1. Itzamna: The Sky-Port Shard Clash Arena: Soar above the clouds in FragPunk’s first aerial combat arena. Itzamna redefines verticality with its floating sky-port architecture, where crumbling celestial docks and suspended walkways hover amidst raging storms. A new zipline device allows players to select flexible routes during gameplay, adding an exciting layer of strategy.
2. Xibalba: The Rainforest Outbreak Mode Complex: Descend into a decaying bio-jungle prison where survival hinges on instinct. Xibalba merges claustrophobic Mesoamerican ruins with suffocating rainforest overgrowth, creating FragPunk’s most complex Outbreak ground. The maze-like routes enhance the chase-and-defend experience for both teams, emphasizing dynamic gameplay like never before.

Chaotic New Shard Cards Unveiled!

In the coming Season 2, a total of around 50 New Shard Cards are joining the battlefield in Season 2 throughout the chapter with a frequency of bi-weekly updates. 

Some of the new Shard Cards include:

• Rigged Duels: One player per team enters the duel arena early.
• Blind Fire Healing: Enemy bullets that graze you restore 3 HP.
• Converter Thievery: Defenders can now seize and relocate the converter.

To enhance player experience, the team has carefully considered player feedback and decided to introduce several new mechanisms to the card pool system. This update includes the new themed card pools such as "Shard Clash" and "Outbreak," which feature mode-specific abilities. To make sure players can experience the new content more easily, new cards will be injected into the pools every two weeks, accompanied by temporary drop-rate increases. Furthermore, regular card rotations will ensure a diverse and evolving meta.

Evolved Playlists & Accessibility  

Season 2 of FragPunk is also introducing some exciting changes to gameplay modes. The fan-favorite Chaos Clash mode will now be a permanent fixture in the playlist, while the precision-testing mirror mode is set to return with enhanced technology and dedicated leaderboards.

Additionally, starting with Season 2, all modes will allow players to match freely, meaning they can queue for any mode without rotation restrictions. Furthermore, the arcade rotation will be retired, providing players with permanent access to every arcade mode!

These unique cards can amplify jump height, reverse the roles of attackers and defenders, engulf bullets in flames or turn them into chain lightning, and even resurrect players! And since the card selection changes every round, this creates new and unique combinations, with infinite gameplay possibilities!
• Frantic 5v5 Hero Shooter Action: Each round only lasts 2.5 minutes, so get a move on! This frantic match time means players have to aim true and react fast to win the fight. Choose between a varied cast of heroes with diverse abilities, customize weapon combinations, pick the best cards and get ready for a lightning-fast fight!
• Endlessly Replayable: With its varied selection of heroes, weapons, shard cards and maps to play in, FragPunk can look forward to discovering several combinations which will result in a fresh new experience for each new round as they develop their personal combat style.
