'Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound' Comes To Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox And PC In July, Playable PC Demo Next Week - Screens & Trailer

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is a 2D sidescrolling action platformer channeling the classic and modern Ninja Gaiden trilogies from Koei Tecmo Games in a brand new adventure.

A new hero, Kenji Mozu, emerges in Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound's story picks up in Hayabusa Village after Ryu Hayabusa heads to America to avenge his father's death, as told in the NES version of Ninja Gaiden. Suddenly, the veil between the human and demon worlds has torn, opening a doorway to darkness in Hayabusa Village. Kenji Mozu, a young ninja of the Hayabusa clan, throws himself into battle, determined to protect his village and its people from a looming demonic threat in this dark and dangerous era.

In this dark era, the destinies of Kenji and Kumori intersect as they overcome the generational grudges of their clans. In the face of peril, their only way to survive is to use the forbidden power that merges Kumori's spirit with Kenji's. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound’s demon-slaying tale unfolds through the journey of two young Ninjas bound together by their shared fate of soul and skill. Their journey, filled with thrilling levels teeming with monsters, will require them to skillfully wield their fusion, "Ninja Fusion," to maximize the talents of both Ninjas.

Featuring a mastery of the high-speed, challenging combat the series is known for, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound’s sidescrolling action is immediately welcoming to newcomers - while offering a steep, rewarding sense of difficulty and intricate technical depth that will challenge the blade of even a seasoned ninja. Brutally slash through an array of fiendish foes and demons while avoiding deadly fiery traps, spike pits, chasms and more.

Publisher Dotemu and developer The Game Kitchen unsheathed a demon-slaying gameplay trailer debuting Kumori, the second protagonist of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound.

Ready your blade for a demonic invasion when this original 2D side-scrolling action platformer releases July 31 on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox – and get the drop on enemies early when Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound’s first playable demo debuts in Steam Next Fest next week.

True to the theme of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound’s merging of modern and classic elements, the soundtrack will also include contributions from guest composers Keiji Yamagishi, Ryuichi Niita, and Kaori Nakabai - creators of the original NES Ninja Gaiden trilogy soundtracks. Leading the soundtrack is Sergio de Prado, best known for his work on the acclaimed Blasphemous series.

Kenji and Kumori’s high-stakes quests develop with show-stopping fights against powerful, boss-caliber behemoths. With upgradable abilities, hidden collectibles, unlockable secret missions, optional challenges and more, NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound is an engrossing modernization of the tense, satisfyingly swift battles and precise, skill-demanding platforming the series is known for.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound features exquisite pixel art, evoking the classic title while bringing a lush field and menacing cast of enemies to life through striking, wonderfully intricate detail. The dynamic action, paired with a pitch-perfect soundtrack featuring contributions from special guest composers, promises players an unforgettable experience.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is coming to PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in Summer 2025.
