The first major game developed by Skybound’s first in-house gaming studio set in Invincible universe, Invincible VS features fan-favorite superheroes - Mark Grayson (Invincible), Atom Eve, Thula, Bulletproof and more - iconic locations, an original story from the creative team behind the smash-hit adult animated television series, visceral bloody combat and an authentic depiction of the destruction and mayhem that captures the chaos and heart that franchise fans know and love.
Based on Skybound’s acclaimed comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley - which had a 15-year run at Image Comics and a historic 146 issues - Invincible VS delivers a one-of-a-kind blend of superhero spectacle and brutal combat. Players will harness explosive powers and unleash bone-breaking combos through fast tag-team mechanics and strategic defensive play. With every vicious Super and Ultimate move, players will deal more damage to their opponents and leave the arenas in a mess of blood.
Invincible VS will offer players a variety of dynamic game modes that raise the stakes with every battle. Whether diving into a captivating single player story, climbing the ranks in a competitive and casual multiplayer Versus mode, unlocking character arcs in Arcade or mastering devastating combos in Training, players will experience unparalleled heroic brutality, where every earth-shattering blow will leave them feeling…Invincible.
Invincible VS is being developed by Quarter Up, the first in-house game development studio at Skybound Entertainment, led by former key members of the Double Helix Games’ Killer Instinct (2013) development team.
Powered by a 40+ person full-time team headquartered in Los Angeles, California, Quarter Up brings together a seasoned development team with deep roots in competitive and combat-focused games with creative leadership drawing from experience across beloved games, franchises and entertainment powerhouses, including Activision Blizzard, Amazon Game Studios, Double Helix Games, Riot Games, Naughty Dog, Netflix and more. The studio name, Quarter Up, is a nod to the classic arcade ritual of putting a quarter on the machine to call ‘next.’ That spirit of competition defines the team’s vision of being at the center of combat, presentation and passion.
"Quarter Up is the result of a collective passion and desire to create something new - something that gets people out of their seats,” said Mike Willette, Executive Producer of Invincible VS / Quarter Up. “We’re an instinct-based team that follows our feelings; we’re always playing and always testing to create experiences that fans love just as much as we do."
“The roster of talent at Quarter Up proves there’s no better studio to bring this bold project to life,” said Chris Paulson, EVP and General Manager of Games at Skybound. “This team carries a deep legacy in fighting games, and Invincible was the perfect title for in-house development by their fearless and confident crew. We’re thrilled that Mike and the team are part of Skybound and we can’t wait to see our vision come to life — on this game and beyond.”
“I have said this before, and I’ll say it again: this is the most excited I’ve been about anything involving Invincible,” said Kirkman. “Invincible VS is crazy fun, fast, ferocious and dripping with the same over-the-top brutality that you’ll see in the comic book pages and on the show. It is a natural evolution of the franchise and it is everything that fans have been demanding for over a decade! This is without a doubt, probably the best superhero fighting game in the universe!”
“As huge fans of the franchise, it was an honor to work with Robert, as well as the comic book and TV series teams, to create the most authentic Invincible experience for players,” said Mike Willette, Executive Producer of Invincible VS. “In Invincible VS, every move, every line of dialogue, every broken limb and bloodied mouth carries real cost and consequence - all building toward the bone-deep satisfaction of victory. No tag fighting game has ever delivered this level of intensity and violence. This game is a love letter to the fighting game community, created by a team of passionate, experienced fans of the genre.”
Invincible VS is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC (Steam) in 2026.
